Absolutely. There have also been situations with absolute prick male celebrities and female pros so it definitely works both ways.
Poor Lilia having to dance with Dominic Littlewood šŸ¤¢
Yeah, I've been told I'm not allowed to chaperone Nikita/Vito/Carlos because apparently they do need to be allowed to actually train their celebs and I can't monopolise all their time. šŸ˜†
Being paired with Neil could work then. You would be able to monopolise all his time and do everyone a favour at the same time šŸ‘

Who had the misfortune to dance with Gregg 2 Gā€™s Wallace - remember he revealed he danced sans pants. And that his then girlfriend was worried about the Strictly curse - as if it was inevitable all those honed and young dancers would all want a bit of the costermonger.
Aliona, who has a mega rich husband and won with a couple of young ringers. I canā€™t understand why she didnā€™t run off into the sunset with Greggy 2Gā€™s.

I donā€™t think it needs to be cancelled but this does need to be a learning moment for change. Offer guidance to the pros on what is and isnā€™t acceptable, set a limit on the amount of hours they can spend training every day with a requirement for breaks, offer weekly(?) check ins for both the pro and the celeb in a space where they are able to raise any concerns. Basically standard stuff that all should already be in place anyway.

What I find interesting is that Zara appears to have more support across SM because there is video evidence and also Graz admitted it but a lot people still donā€™t believe all the people that have come forward about Gio because there doesnā€™t appear to be video evidence of physical abuse.
From what I read today, Amanda has asked for it, but Gio has refused. Hopefully he will be made to pass it over

To be fair, if there are hours and hours of training footage every week for every couple, thereā€™s no way itā€™s all being watched by anyone remotely high up. In fact I would say thereā€™s a chance itā€™s not all being watched at all, especially if say they already have enough to make a good VT, will they sit and go though another hour of footage that they donā€™t really need? I could see how clips could go unwatched. Similarly I could see how watching all the clips would likely be the job of a junior member of staff, even if they arenā€™t the ones making the VTs itā€™s a time consuming and laborious task, aka something they give to the juniors. If they did see something who is to say they felt they could do anything about it. Basically I could see how the producers and senior team members could not have seen the footage, thereā€™s no way theyā€™re watching it all if any, but they should have asked to see it (if they knew it had been caught on camera) when the initial complaint was made

Yes,if true, this shows the unwanted and unecessary interference from the producers, trying to manipulate the results. They surely know by now that the public will make their own minds up and we can spot when overmarking is occurring and partnerships we enjoy and who we want to see next week irrespective of dance ability. Huge voting audience with a wide range of criteria for their votes. It was not a vintage year last time, apart from Laytonā€™s talent. I think last year was all about getting La Rippon to Blackpool for their narrative and they were probably hoping for a few fun weeks from Les but I really canā€™t see they were too bothered about Zara making it all the way. She had a nice backstory, long term Strictly fan, proud grandparents but they surely knew she wasnā€™t a huge talent.
I dunno. I loved Ellie and Vito (as did loads of people). Bobby and his CC got a lot of positive attention. Then you have the Nigel-heads, awestruck by the reincarnation of Gene Kelly. Annabel and her emotional journey. Angela S was great till she was brought low by an unspeakable CC. Krishnan and his joyful performances. The Rippon and her leg of steel, accompanied by Kai in his role as understudy in Goodnight, Sweetheart. Even the less obviously talented or interesting ones were endearing: Adam, Zara, Nikita K, Eddie, Jody, Les.
I wasn't a fan of Amanda and Gio obv, but she did some good routines (pace foof-lift). Seemed like a pretty good year all round (barring of course what we now know/suspect..)

Completely agree. Also agree that all perspective has been lost in the chase of the tens. That move Ellie did in the final was bloody dangerous and I assume that lies with the producers/other choreographers rather than at Vito's door (but frankly WFK at this point). Back in the olden days, when I accept standards were very different (the Lailia Rouass moment for example would, quite rightly, be a dismissal moment now) a grand ronde would be the height of achievement.

I dunno, I don't think it was a memorable year as such. It was okay, but it wasn't even seven months ago and I'd struggle to remember who won. It was an okay year with good moments, but I don't know if there was a wow.

In the same vein as my recent rant Iā€™ve just seen a
Clip on social media of Lorraineā€™s show. She reads out Zaraā€™s statement, knowing full well the physical abuse she has endured and flippantly declares
ā€œItā€™s all about matching up the right people really isnā€™t itā€
Beyond fuming that a woman with such a platform
Would make that statement. Does anyone know an email address/ person to contact at ITV to complain? I feel this needs to be challenged. So bloody dangerous to women who are trying to speak up

I fucking cannot stand Lorraine Kelly. She's part of the problem. Never sticking up for women. A massive bully I think and she seems such a cow to alot of people

Funnily enough last year was one of my all time favourites and is hands down a vintage year for me. The past few years I hadnā€™t enjoyed much at all. Which I guess is exactly how itā€™s gone for so long, there will always be people who love a particular series and cast
I thoroughly enjoyed last year too. Nigel was my absolute favourite cos I love him anyway, but I liked most of them, tbh.

I remember back late 90's/early 2000's she was an horrendous 'skinny basher'. I seem to remember her being called out for it by a guest on one occasion, but it was a different time and deemed perfectly acceptable.

Last year was an improvement in that it didn't go for the sob stories nearly as much as 2022, and had plenty of cast members in it for a good experience (Rippon/Annabel/Krishnan etc), but other than Layton & Ellie, there wasn't much good dancing on offer. I'd hoped Bobby, Angela S & Nigel would have all done better, but for various reasons they didn't. I don't think it helps that they keep giving subpar pros potentially good celebrities (IYKYK).

A third male pro implicated by Amanda's lawyers: no longer part of the show. Brendan? James? Artem? (Fern already complained) (Please not Pasha!)
