I’m not a Shirley fan at all, but I didn’t think her comments where that biased - she said not to believe everything you read (fair), that she hadn’t ever experienced anything negative from him (fair, she was asked a direct question) and something about the investigation will get to the bottom of it, I don’t think she could say much more really?
I think that she should have said she wouldn't be commenting at this time, or words to that effect.

So we are supposed to believe that nobody on higher up production watches the footage. Sorry but i don't believe that at all they're hardly going to admit it.

But even if that was the case, what about Amanda, she literally complained and they didn't do anything so they literally ignore abuse.
It seems like it maybe wasn't training footage? there's some wording about how they got hold of the video - makes me wonder if it was on someone's phone? They have been watching the footage because of the Gio thing.

The point about Shirley is that she didn't need to say anything at all. End of. Just 'I can't comment as it's ongoing'. Saying how lovely he was to her mum. She also said 'I know he is a hard worker. He wants people to do the very best that they can do', implying that that's what happened with Amanda, and definitely prejudicing people against Amanda.

In regards to SM and Zara continuing to dance with Graziano, a lot of those sorts of things are not organic they are agreed upon with the folk who represent them be it management or PR some of those things may have been agreed upon with their teams making it difficult for Zara to back out.
Plus Zara’s documentary was for the BBC. She would have been told firmly by her agent etc, grit your teeth, smile through it, don’t rock the boat or you may be blacklisted.

Shirley is paid highly by the BBC to judge dancing. She should not be undermining the investigation taking place in her workplace. Her comment about him being lovely to her mum shows ironically, a lack of judgement. She has done a dance class with Gio, and I know Anton was desperately trying to make Anton n Gio a thing - they are presumably in a business relationship and they don’t want to spoil that. I am giving ol Anton the side eye too.

Its such a shame, I liked the frivolousness and light heartedness of Strictly. But it has got increasingly competitive, with increasingly complicated and demanding dances for the celebrities to learn!

Its also intriguing to wonder about the difference between the male and female pros! Im sure all of them are highly competitive, but it seems as if its the male pros who are more likely to get angry and frustrated with their partners, during rehearsals and to behave appallingly.
I wonder if Graz would have been dismissed quite so quickly if Amanda hadnt already raised concerns about Gio?

I would recommend things like time limits/guidelines for rehearsals, so that no one feels pushed to work more hours than they need to, and also maybe a reminder that the dances dont need to be perfect......its fine to create something that isnt 100% polished. We cant expect celebrities to pull out a professional standard dance after only a few weeks!
Maybe strictly need to think a bit more about the judging... Anton is really good at praising improvement for instance. Hamza Hassan won, for enthusiasm and exuberance...I dont think he was necessarily the best technical dancer!

One think that Graz is supposed to have said was that the pros were under increasing pressure to bring in the 9s and 10s. I can believe that. Hence the rise of the Super Ringers. There have always been ringers on this show, but in the last few years all pretence has gone. You have people that have danced for a living on the show with the ability to do more and more complex routines, which the Zaras and Tony Adams would never have a hope in hell of emulating. The sheer joy when Hamza and Bill Bailey won. Two guys - not particularly fit - amateurs - showing a proper “journey” of improvement. These are the people you get invested in. Not the ones who look like pros themselves.

Yes,if true, this shows the unwanted and unecessary interference from the producers, trying to manipulate the results. They surely know by now that the public will make their own minds up and we can spot when overmarking is occurring and partnerships we enjoy and who we want to see next week irrespective of dance ability. Huge voting audience with a wide range of criteria for their votes. It was not a vintage year last time, apart from Layton’s talent. I think last year was all about getting La Rippon to Blackpool for their narrative and they were probably hoping for a few fun weeks from Les but I really can’t see they were too bothered about Zara making it all the way. She had a nice backstory, long term Strictly fan, proud grandparents but they surely knew she wasn’t a huge talent.
