Sorry but i think it should be cancelled, for this year atleast, but they won't because it's their big anniversary year, and that's all that matters.

The bbc in yet another cover up. Why wouldn't they have sacked Graziano straight away after seeing the footage, then put Zara with another partner (if she wanted), and with Amanda they could have atleast put her with another partner while Gio was investigated. They clearly don't care about the welfare of the contestants.

I don't understand all the comments about it not being fair on the staff who work there. You could say the same about any job, or shouldn't the show be held to account. What about Jeremy Kyle. That ended eventually. Should it have kept going for the staff?

No doubt come September this will all be swept under the carpet, and they'll all be "one big happy family."

eta: I agree that Shirley should be sacked, she's not professional at all.
 
My only knowledge of Zara pre strictly was from love island and I'll admit when I saw her being called documentary maker I laughed.
Looking back now im thinking young woman tryimg to make her way and carve out a career and shake off the love island tag and gain credibility
We know love island can be a springboard. Maybe she thought if she kept her head down, didnt come across as a complainer she might get some bbc work.
Maybe she thought everyone elses partner was like this and didnt want to make waves.
Is this indicative of a bigger problem in the world of dance- learnt behaviour from their own teachers but too blinded by the thought of a championship win to see its wrong? We know how intense it can be.
Interesting to see how Grazisnos other partners fared.

My understanding is that they didn't see the video until last week. There was a report of abuse, which presumably he denied. Not defending them. They should have put her with someone else, and Amanda too, as soon as there were issues. Presumably one thing encouraging G +G was the knowledge that action probably wasn't going to be taken.

I was called a Karen the other day because I have short hair. I wish a haircut could make me a good complainer as I’m very British about complaining and am more likely to smile and say it’s fine whilst inwardly seething.

I met a Strictly fan this afternoon who was very much of the victim blaming opinion. I told her if Graziano had spat at me I’d have floored him but maybe that’s why he bullied a young woman who would have less confidence. Ooh maybe that was my inner Karen coming out 🙄

It's also down to the fact that if abusers were nasty all of the time, people would not be taken in by them. So they can switch on the charm, at will, and the person they are abusing starts to doubt themselves. And on it goes in a vicious circle. I hope that your friend is okay now.

Shirley is a disgrace, no other word for her. A disgrace. I'd laugh if they sacked her. I know it won't happen though.

So we are supposed to believe that nobody on higher up production watches the footage. Sorry but i don't believe that at all they're hardly going to admit it.

But even if that was the case, what about Amanda, she literally complained and they didn't do anything so they literally ignore abuse.

I don’t think it should be scrapped. That would be punishing all the staff that work on it and reliant on the money - assuming that includes the brave whistleblowers.
I do think they need to make a stand though. I think the boss should go as should the head judge who has been unprofessional not just in her nasty biased judging but also her recent comments about FR.

Weirdly I’ve never seen an Argentine Tango that involves spitting on your dance partner. Maybe that’s one for the after show BDSM polyamorous orgies (the real strictly scandal 🤫)

I’m not a Shirley fan at all, but I didn’t think her comments where that biased - she said not to believe everything you read (fair), that she hadn’t ever experienced anything negative from him (fair, she was asked a direct question) and something about the investigation will get to the bottom of it, I don’t think she could say much more really? I think it must be hard for the dancers and crew who’ve worked with the pros and never seen these sides before to reconcile the person they think they know and this other person (obviously not as hard as it is for the people impacted directly, before anyone comes for me).
I feel very sorry for Zara and Amanda that their experiences of something they were hugely looking forward to have been so tainted. Duty of care needs an overhaul and I’d consider limiting training hours for the celebs.

I agree and the people suggesting otherwise and trying to understand the mind of someone who suffered abuse is strange to me
