Your tips on how to look more Groomed, Glamorous or Polished #13

Ladies with routine… I salute you!
I go through these horrible cycles of treating myself well, which In turn boosts my self esteem and then I get all lost and feel like crap again! It’s like I know what to do to make myself feel better, but I seriously lack the motivation! Wondering whether I’m hitting perimenopause, or just thinking up excuses as to why I’m a slob! 🤪
I was doing some research on confidence recently and apparently when you stop yourself doing the things to you want to do or find excuses not to do them, that is your ego trying to keep you safe. I have definitely not explained this in enough detail and I'm going to have to go and start the daily regime in a mo (lol) but try googling the ways your ego holds you back as there is loads of info on it and once I read it, a lot of my behaviours made sense and I found I stopped holding myself back (tbf not with grooming, my problem was with not taking good opportunities at work but def think the same principles will apply) xx

Okay, I want to be you when I grow up. Very impressed!
Haha why thank you. But I was brought up by a mother who also had routines like this. However, there’s definitely still times I neglect myself. And now having a baby it’s more often!

So.. are you ready? I will say sometimes I cba with it and do skip some routines some days / weeks, but generally I know I feel better about myself if I stick to them..

Morning - dry brush twice a week (Weds & Sunday), shower (wash hair every other day), wash etc, shave any areas that need it. Post shower moisturise (every other day use gradual tan moisturiser), cleanse, tone, serum, moisturise face.
Evening - shower, double cleanse, tone, moisturise. Oh and eye cream morning and night too.
Every evening I gently file around my nails to address any snags, moisturise my hands and cuticle oil, then I put on laneige lip sleeping mask. I do these things when lay in bed watching TV and it’s just habit now.

Weekly - scrub body, scrub face, steam face, face mask, retinol. Gym 4x per week - Mon, Wed, Fri & Sun. Red light sauna on Sundays.

Then I get a pedicure every 6 weeks, a mani every 3-4 weeks, brows monthly.
I do intend to start getting Botox next year. I just need to research who to go with for best results local to me.
This is what I aspire to 😂😂

I feel exposed here but …
Shower every second day in winter my skin is super dry. Always moisturise .
Vitamins and collagen
Wash hair every 3 days - no conditioner.
Moisturise when I remember

Leg hair and bikini area hair hardly grows now and shave armpits once a week.
Pluck eyebrows and stray whiskers daily
BIAB gel nails every 3-4 weeks, gel toes every 8 weeks
Hair cut every 6 weeks, I’m silver haired now.
Evening - Liz Earle cleansing balm
Sometimes moisturise
Hair serum
In bed - nail oil and hand cream
For exercise I help look after 23 ponies, walk my dog 2 a day, play tennis 3 times per week. Need to do more weight stuff after recovering from an
Op.

Does anyone else have issues where they have a lot of frizz/breakage on one side of their hair in particular?

Yes, both sides but not likely to improve since I live with my hair up. Is you problem side the side you sleep on? Could a satin bonnet worn overnight help?

Me neither. My body doesn't tolerate it very well (I end up with thrush 😅)

I have a wash, do my skincare routine and spritz my smell of the day 🤷‍♀️

Anyone else struggling with dry skin at the moment? My skincare routine just isn't skincaring right now.
I found my skin improved enormously when I wasn't able to have a shower after a car crash and had to have a wash at the sink instead. Cleared up my skin problems which have damaged my skin in some parts.
Minute I started back showering I was itching and coming up in rashes and lumps. I still do it though as I love a shower. 😟

I’m not entirely sure, I do use a silk pillow now. I’m trying to limit heat but I probably need a good cut to stop the damage travelling up the hair shaft.

I have dry skin, always have, and it's especially worse now it's colder. I tend to add in thinner hydrating layers for daytime and whack up the hydration at night. My ultimate goal is to look like a glazed doughnut!

I am rubbish at body care, but I like to mix a few wee drops of an oil (usually Argan oil from The Ordinary but vitamin e oil would also work I am sure!) into my body moisturiser when I actually remember to use my body moisturiser offers me a little something extra when my skin is dry. I also use bars of nice soap rather than shower gel. Usually from smaller companies rather than something you can buy in a regular shop but how much that actually makes a difference I have zero idea!

Dry skin girlies - it’s only available in America but ive seen a few sellers on vinted and TikTok - but the OLAY hyaluronic body lotion is insane ! It’s cured my eczema, my legs feel firmer and my whole body just feels like a new born dolphin! It’s only 8 Dollars for a massive pump, if can get it you will honestly be blown away !

I have had a similar routine for years, only thing that’s changed over time is skincare

Morning shower, moisturise body, tone then ultrasun face, have a cuppa before applying makeup
Night oil cleanse, toner, vit c/hylauronic acid/retinol and moisture

wash hair every 5-7 days, curly hair so clipped up for bed and refreshed or fluffed up depending on how it looks in between- if bad then is an up do style. dye roots every 3 weeks and highlights and cut about every 6 months

epilate top lip and legs, pluck eyebrow, shave pits and bikini all weekly

Nails apply strengthener every other day and file edges couple of times a week, paint toe nails every 2 weeks

Exercise I walk a few times a week but need to do some yoga or gym, been too busy lately

Can you post a pic please. I can’t find it

I do not do this myself but some of my friends got rid off their dry skin because they started using conditioner as bodywash. It cleared up their eczema and they swear by it. Maybe it's worth a try?

Be careful! It makes the shower floor very slippery.
We had some samples of a body conditioner (think they were nivea) at the gym for people to try and they had to take them away as it was getting dangerous

I lather up my body twice when washing my hair. One time before conditioner and another time after as I've always heard conditioner can clog pores and cause body acne
