What are everyone’s office or work bag beauty essentials. I like having some things left at my desk like a lip balm and hand cream. Anything you find handy that I might be forgetting?
Travel size toothbrush and toothpaste, mini hair brush, tweezers, a folding face razor (dermaplaning razor?), Carmex, magnifying hand mirror, mini hand cream, antibacterial wipes, pain, spare pad and pantyliner. They all fit in a pouch, apart from the hairbrush, so it's easy to grab and go.

I keep an everyday lipstick and another mini hand cream in my handbag. I rarely do makeup so lipstick is enough if I need to refresh myself, it serves as lipstick and blush. I used to carry a small mascara too but it's a faff, I never use it on the go.

I also carry an arsenal of everyday medication but that's not beauty related 😅

On TikTok there’s a girl called Ashley Paige and she has videos on “car packs” and what to keep in them. Which essentially like this I guess

Can anyone recommend skin care for my pre teen granddaughter?

She was buying all the skin care she saw on tik tok, Drunk Elephant etc but I told her she could damage her skin using products that are too harsh for a 12 year old so she’s asked me to get her what she should use.

She has normal skin, no issues

Thank you 🙏

My dermatologist always favours pharmacy brands especially for her younger patients, I don't think you can go wrong with a very basic routine at her age that consists of gentle cleanser, moisturizer and SPF, especially since she has no issues.

I like La Roche-Posay and Avène. Dermalogica is very good too but their prices can be a bit spicy for my usual spending. They all have skin type categories on their websites, you can find suitable and no-bells-and-whistles products that will be good for her skin.

If she wants something that feels like a treat, you can also get Mario Badescu rosewater spray as toner. Rosewater is hydrating and soothing but always gives me the feeling of doing something decadent haha.

Young teens - cerave and ordinary basic moisturiser is what I got mine, but they are boys and these brands have neutral packaging. Byoma probably appeals to girls and has some good moisturisers that are light (the pink gel one was a tiktok trend back in the summer).

Definitely keep it simple. Cerave cleanser. I like the non foaming green one for hydrating. An SPF, Supergoop ones are lovely or la Roche posay. If she wants a few extras a nice lip balm and a mist, byoma do a great one. And then a moisturiser of choice. I wouldn’t go expensive. That age you don’t need any actives so avoid anything labelled retinol, exfoliating or anti age.

Thanks for the replies. I’ll have a look at them all
