Has anyone seen Arthur Fils play? I haven’t - I’ve only heard Catherine from the Tennis Podcast rave about him.
I don’t know how motivated Casper Ruud is right now but still it’s nice to see another young player have a good result.
Is it OK to post links here? Please let me know if not.
 
I watched a bit of Fils in one of the earlier clay tournaments. I couldn’t believe he’s only 19.
 
Oooh, exciting that there’s another upcoming contender. As much as I like Alcaraz, it’s dull when one player dominates (not that he is yet, it just feels like it might go that way). I felt like that about Sampras and Serena Williams, and whilst I dislike Djokovic anyway, the tedium of him being odds-on for every recent tournament hasn’t helped.

Hopefully we’re seeing the emergence of a new generation of challengers 🤞
 
Anyone watching Canada?

I hope Hubert gets though, on the third set right now.

It's Berrettini sinner tonight. But might not start till 11pm here which is a bit late for me.

Which platform is it on? I watched some of CITI/Washington last week, but had to bail on the final after I left the room to check on the kids and came back to a Kygrios rerun as play had been suspended 🙄

The Berrettini match is about to start - I’m going to start watching it but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to stay awake for the whole thing.
I like both players and I have high hopes that it’ll be a good match - I’m rooting for Berrettini to regain his confidence and form.
I think Andy’s match is about to start too.

Not sad about Tsitsipas and Zverev, but was kind of hoping that Rublev would finally get comfortable in Toronto. I don’t think he’s ever gone far there.

This is totally Alcaraz‘ to lose and would be even if Novaxx was there :D
 
I see Gauff gave Boulter a real doing. She's good on grass but needs to start doing it on other surfaces if she wants to move up the rankings. Still outside the top 70 in the world. Seems to be out her depth when she plays the real top players.

Wish it was berrettini Murray, but wasn't ment to be.

That might be the end of play for anyone watching Toronto from Europe today. Although the forecasts are often way too pessimistic.

Didn't watch Washington, but glad Evans won - I still believe the poster here that said he was rude and entitled on a plane.

I’ve heard quite a few times about Dan being a bit of a dick, not specific stories but just that’s a lot of peoples opinion of him that meet him.

Toronto is providing a real humbling to the top seeds, just seen Ruud went out as well today

Has anyone watched ‘Resurfacing’ on Amazon? They look to have a few decent tennis docs on there, though I haven’t watched any of them yet.

I’ve just read he addressed the crowd about his withdrawal, which you don’t see many players do.

His Amazon documentary was really good and makes you understand how much he loves the game.
