Something I personally have taken from this is shock at how badly this show is managed. Contestants weren’t psychologically assessed before taking part, they only introduced physios after AJ’s injury in 2021, the training isn’t recorded (only small segments), there are no support workers, they’re rehearsing 10 hours + a day with little to no breaks, dancing through injuries, ridiculously dangerous lifts… all for a entertainment show.
I don’t think Strictly will be axed, it’s one of if not the biggest show on the BBC, but changes have to be made. If pros were never told what’s acceptable and what’s not (I do acknowledge they will have experienced strict training as professional dancers) then lines have to be drawn. Plus being a good dancer doesn’t make you a good teacher. Sure all the pros have won championships and performed all over the world but very few of them have taught dance before Strictly, especially not to complete beginners.
Basically I think it’s a huge tit show, and not defending Graziano at all but you have to question how this was allowed to happen and questions need to be asked of producers, show runners ect.

I have to say I was shocked at the allegations when they came out, then even more shocked when it was Zara, if It was Vicki I could have seen it, as they just didn't click at all and that could have been the reason. Kym and Judi would eat him up for breakfast and break his legs if he tried to physically hurt them. I'm not a zara fan, can't stand anyone who calls themselves "Influencers" but I do hope she's ok and getting looked after by the right people
I wonder if Judi Love is on Loose Women tomorrow???

While I am whinging, I hate Halloween week. So boring now.
And the big hype about going to Blackpool!!

Yeah at the end of the day there’s a racist on the judging panel - until he’s gone the producers have no moral high ground.

🙄🙄🙄 as far we know, he made one comment several years ago.

Living in Glasgow, I work in a very multi cultural environment. I've an Indian worker tell someone else (scottish person) that they were darker than them because they had a good tan, I had a lady from Pakistan tell me her grandson was a half caste and I've had another member of staff use a word (doesn't begin with p) that I felt was totally outdated and possiblly offensive. I asked why she used the word - she said she lost and doesnt know what words you're allowed to use these days plus the African member of staff told her the word was acceptable.

Yeah I remember listening to Kai on a podcast (not as dreary as it sounds 😂) and he was comparing how his brother (semi-professional footballer) has sessions with physios pretty much daily yet Strictly only brought them in after AJ’s injury. Madness!
This is exactly what he said, yes.
Small defence of poor Theo Widd, he’s a Footballer, It’s his only job.

Interestingly, on Juliet’s group (the spiritual home of the shameless male apologist, where every single bad thing that ever gets said about one of their darling pros is directly due to that evil witch Amanda, who is on a mission to single-handedly ruin the lives of every good man on the planet), there has been a sudden volte face, whereby she has declared that the hit/punched/spat allegations have been verified for her by a reliable source, and from here on the only comments allowed are those directly supporting Zara.

I wonder if Zara’s mum read some of the awful speculation in that group and waved a lawyer’s letter in Juliet’s general direction? 🤔

Interesting, Ieft it yesterday due to the comments again Amanda and « those women »

I don’t know if it was here or on the Gemma Atkinson thread but I’ve seen people say they immediately thought it was Gorka when they read the headline and I am a Gorka fan but I don’t get that.
Gorka seems quite laid back in terms of training, like with Katie McGlynn could barely spare the time to train he did what he could with her and made it fun, he knew Nikita wasn’t going to win and again made sure she had fun, I think he’s one of the ones who recognises it’s a fun, family show even if he can look a bit arsey sometimes. I think he just has resting witch face.

agreed! i think gorka gets an undeserved bad rep based on both his resting witch face and his (warranted imo) pout when helen didn’t win. he seems to be a good teacher and makes sure that his partners have a good experience - katie piper still speaks so warmly of him, nikita was a terrible dancer but still had a good time. he’s one of the male pros i would want to be paired with (as i’m an awful dancer 🤣) - that list is sadly getting very small though.

What has stood out to me was the remark from production that many who saw the video cried afterwards, in which case it must have been shocking and very clear cut. If Julie has any links to production maybe they have passed on that it's very much real.

Very triggering all this I hope Zara is or has had trauma counselling regarding this abuse, can't bear to read anymore I just want it to stop. It has completely changed my perspective now on SCD.

I know, I've always thought he's one of the few that actually gets not everyone has the potential to win so he tries to make sure they get something else rewarding from the experience and not push them to do something they're not capable of

Of course, caveat that we don't really know any of these people and up until yesterday I thought Graziano was a nice guy! But yeah, occasional resting witch face doesn't necessarily = mean person

Off topic slightly but has the ballot opened for live show tickets yet?

I don’t think this will mark the end of the show, especially if this is actually it and we don’t now get streams and streams of accusations against multiple pros, but I do think it will be the catalyst for major changes that are clearly needed.

Shirley was on Loose Women recently (for the 20th time, they could do with some new guests) and said they would start revealing celebrities in July. I thought that was quite early but maybe next week they will and hope this gets lost in all the celebrity reveals
