Something I personally have taken from this is shock at how badly this show is managed. Contestants weren’t psychologically assessed before taking part, they only introduced physios after AJ’s injury in 2021, the training isn’t recorded (only small segments), there are no support workers, they’re rehearsing 10 hours + a day with little to no breaks, dancing through injuries, ridiculously dangerous lifts… all for a entertainment show.
I don’t think Strictly will be axed, it’s one of if not the biggest show on the BBC, but changes have to be made. If pros were never told what’s acceptable and what’s not (I do acknowledge they will have experienced strict training as professional dancers) then lines have to be drawn. Plus being a good dancer doesn’t make you a good teacher. Sure all the pros have won championships and performed all over the world but very few of them have taught dance before Strictly, especially not to complete beginners.
Basically I think it’s a huge tit show, and not defending Graziano at all but you have to question how this was allowed to happen and questions need to be asked of producers, show runners ect.
