Zara and Ellie were both in a similar situation, they were both young girls, neither had a vast or experienced career behind them, and both would have been aware that their time on Strictly could make or break their future career prospects. Both also seem sweet and like they don’t take themselves too seriously. Both get partnered with a seemingly fun, nice and supportive Italian. You have Ellie who totally blossomed under Vitos guidance and support, who has very clearly made a friend for life, who was given so much encouragement, love and fun from her partner. While Zara was beaten down and literally physically abused. I feel so sorry for her.

Shirley will be told not to make any 'it's week 2 now...' comments. More careful training will probably mean a drop in standard but hopefully for the better for the whole light entertainment one big happy family show.
I was thinking this too. Some of the judges can be so harsh with ridiculous expectations. As you say Shirley with her disapproving 'it's week three now and you really should be better' to a complete novice who is obviously trying their best. This doesn't excuse whatsoever abusive behaviour in the training room - but does help engender an attitude of shaming for the celeb and the pro. So the training becomes much more tense probably.
It's meant to be bloody fun fgs. Look at Nigel Harmon after being humiliated week after week. That was not nice to witness.

I’ve just seen this vile comment on FB about Zara. It’s one of many from this woman, and thankfully lots are calling her out. But how bleeping depressing we have women who say things like this.

Ellie has said on interviews how relentless the training was, even outside of training Vito would be messaging her constantly with videos to watch, making sure she did yoga, meditations, ate well and slept well. She was extremely vulnerable going in, and Vito seemed to be the best thing that could have happened to her at that time.
I can imagine Vito was a hard task master to get the job done, but I hope the experience was as amazing overall for Ellie as we were led to believe.

As for the show’s future, I think it needs an overhaul - starting by getting rid of the head judge who needs to go immediately. Shirley has openly facilitated misogyny and bullying with her past comments and this speaking up in defence of Gio is wholly inappropriate and unprofessional - “My mum loves him and he always treated her well” 🙄

I think every stage of the process has to evaluate themselves. The pros and how they teach, support their partners and accept that it is ultimatley an entertainment show and not a professional competition. The producers and how they handle complaints and the support they offer both the pros and the celebs, as well as the culture within the staff. The judges and their expectations, differing standards and the way they speak to some of the celebs. And to some degree the audience and what we expect from the celebs.

All whilst in no way placing the blame on anyone but Graziano. He is totally to blame, but there are factors that can now be changed.

They might not be supportive ‘follows’ - it’s possibly people wanting to see what he says/does next, but not from a positive/‘fan’ perspective.

I think when anyone is involved in something newsworthy or ‘scandalous’ they tend to gain more followers, due to basic nosiness.

totally this, when Lauren Goodger lost her kid - her followers went up by 20-25% and then when it became old/stale she resorted to buying bots to stay close to 1m as the numbers continued to drop in their numbers as they realised she had nothing to offer

Shirley should be hauled over the coals for mouthing off about Gio and how wonderful he is. Totally unprofessional - which we already knew, of course. She was vile to Nigel last year. She always picks on someone and they can do nothing right in her eyes.

That week two/ three thing, she reserves for whoever she dislikes. If she likes them, they could mess up right to the end, and they will never hear that crap. Of any of the judges, she would be the one I would least miss if she (ever) leaves.

So telling that he was able to put the post on his grid though. Of course there are many reasons why Zara might prefer to keep it on her stories, but the fact is that Graziano has 30k likes on the post and has gained 4k followers since this all started:View attachment 3055997

That is actually shocking. What kind of world do we live in where an abuser gets more support than his victim?! And people wonder why women don’t come forward and report things like this?? 😡😡

Yes I think the followers will eventually drop. There was an Instagrammer who had a scandal a while back and her followers did increase quite a bit but I guess it was because people wanted to see if she would make any comment. Suppose some people just like to curtain twitch

Never equate followers with support. Some follow people like Trump just to see what nutty thing they're coming out with next.

What the actual duck is wrong with people? How can anyone still be victim blaming here? He has as good as admitted what he did. Zara’s statement is heartbreaking, it really did make me very sad. Not a huge Zara fan but you could see wanted to do well and was so happy to be involved. I hope she’s ok.
