Interestingly, on Juliet’s group (the spiritual home of the shameless male apologist, where every single bad thing that ever gets said about one of their darling pros is directly due to that evil witch Amanda, who is on a mission to single-handedly ruin the lives of every good man on the planet), there has been a sudden volte face, whereby she has declared that the hit/punched/spat allegations have been verified for her by a reliable source, and from here on the only comments allowed are those directly supporting Zara.

I wonder if Zara’s mum read some of the awful speculation in that group and waved a lawyer’s letter in Juliet’s general direction? 🤔

What has stood out to me was the remark from production that many who saw the video cried afterwards, in which case it must have been shocking and very clear cut. If Julie has any links to production maybe they have passed on that it's very much real.

I would also like to point out that Amanda Abingdon - Patron Saint of Celebrity Whistle-blowers - got a lot of 'dislike' on these threads prior to the show starting due to her "terfy" views.

Now however, she's being held up as a plastercast saint!!!

Being an old, bitter, unattractive to men type woman - I see life in many different shades and know that many things can be true.

She can be an unlikable person who was telling the absolute truth about Gio.
Or
She could also be the loveliest woman in the world but is prone to dramatics
Or
She's a lovely woman who's telling the truth
Or
She's a nutcase making stuff up - see Roxanne Pallatt

My feeling is that Amanda is a bit "dramtic" and Gio is a bit of an "a*******" and this made for a toxic combination

Whether the BBC will have enough to nail Gio, I'm not sure, given how swiftly they've dealt with Graz

I still think the Gio/Amanda thing will result in non disclosure agreements all round with Amanda getting a nice pay off and Gio hinting on future tours about having to work with nutjobs on Strictly and how he's glad he's only has to work with professionals now!!!

A junior production member witnessed a Graz incident but was too scared to report it until the Gio investigation.

The production staff member feared for her job if she reported him, even though Graziano didn't hold any position of management over her. What an insane culture. I guess that at least partially explains how he was stupid enough to physically abuse Zara in front of a witness and a camera, but was cunning enough to keep up the puppy dog act with everyone else. He knew he could get away with what he did to her. And he was absolutely right about that, at least until now!

There really should be resignations from the top producer level. And their replacements should definitely interview his previous partners, since it seems unlikely he went from zero to full scale physical abuse just this last series.

Well, as a fairly minging menopausal woman, she comes across to me as someone who calls stuff out, and no doubt has a diva side too. But that doesn’t mean the call outs aren’t valid.

I find as I age I am less and less willing to put up with crap. My people pleasing side will never go away but it’s increasingly dominated by the ‘duck that’ bit of me, particularly when I think about the world my daughters are growing up into.

It's really not uncommon, it's so so sad and it's usually a scrote of a man too, and 90% noone on the outside notices, I was still a confident, successful person outside the front door.
A bit out of left field, Sam has ADHD right? it's joked us neurospicy people tend to attract other neuro spicy people, I wonder if Zara was assesed when he did his docu? I know there can be a people pleasing aspect to the detriment of your own needs too.
I watched that doc. Zara didn’t feature much at all, it was Sam’s mum that he had the important conversations with. I’ve been reading for a few weeks that Sam and Zara are going through a difficult time, I took it as internet gossip mostly but believe it now .. there are always repercussions to our actions even when you’re not the person who instigated them,

Junior production staff v The Talent usually ends in just one way. That’s across the industry.

I think you only have to compare the standard of dancing from series one to today and you can see how the show has changed. Natasha Kaplinsky would just about make it to week 5 now never mind win it.

They take absolute novices (in most cases) and expect them to produce competition standard dancing. You hear the judges saying 'we need more' 'stretch yourself', 'that was very basic' etc etc. The dancers see it as a pathway to their own shows, dance schools, advertising deals and if they're really lucky a presenting job somewhere. Look at someone like Oti. For dancers and participants the stakes are quite high. A win can alter their career course quite drastically.

Anton was always smart enough to know he couldn't really compete as a dancer so used other skills to make himself stand out. He always used to say that Strictly was primarily an entertainment show which seems to have got lost over the years.

That genuinely makes me feel queasy 😔

Going back to the 'labrador/retreiver' description being applied to 'nice' men. Personally, I think it gets used a lot to describe famous men. Does anyone use it much to describe men in real-life? I'm going through a mental checklist of the nicest men I know, but they don't have that 'labrador energy'

That is something I would describe as an unwavering zest for life. Constantly happy, sweet and upbeat. An abundance of positivity and enthusiasm. But who the feck is really like this all the time? Now it's easy to see it as the glaring facade it was.

I feel like when it first started and when Bruce was there it was more entertaining and lighthearted. Now it seems very strict and regimented. I can't believe what I've read this morning about him spitting on Zara and it was caught on video to make the producers cry. Strictly has lost its way completely.

I find it interesting that both Vick Hope and Zara who had problems with him were not only young women trying to develop their careers but both were also BBC employees.
That adds a level of difficulty for the BBC employed celebs if they dare to upset the apple cart it might risk their jobs as well as inviting the publics derision especially when the Pro is popular within the show and with the public.

Interesting points, it brings into sharp focus quite a few things I witnessed and thought “jeez” and promptly forgot about, for instance the final lift in the Ellie/Vito couples choice where at the very last moment she ducked out and he managed to stabilise her, could have been an awful accident. Shouldn’t somebody be casting a weather eye on degrees of difficulty .. did we ever get a full explanation about the tumble that took Nigel out of the last series?

I know viewers seem to be divided into those who love seeing really top notch dancing and those who like to watch a ‘journey’. I find the celebrities like Layton less fun as while I can appreciate that he is a great dancer, I miss the original point of the show of taking someone who can’t dance and seeing them improve. When you have someone who is so good, it unbalances the others too.

I have nothing at all against Layton as a human being. I liked him! But I’d rather watch Ed Balls.

Same it was fun when it was basically all non dancers and you could see the ones with the natural flair for it get better and better as the weeks went by

Didn’t Layton say that Nikita didn’t let him take breaks?
Hopefully all that kind of stuff will go out the window now

Similarly a lot of the people defending her then turned on her immediately she complained about Gio. Juliet’s toxic cesspool is an example.
What is true is that the Zara stuff wouldn’t have come to light without Amanda’s complaint. Even if Gio gets off.

I think the Gio accusations are much harder to prove in that I think they may be less physical and more emotional, the way he spoke to them, the long hours, the pushing to their limits etc. It’s much harder to prove and to decide whether there was genuine ill intent or not. With Graz it’s much more black and white.
I agree, you've only got to watch Dance Moms it's not physical but constant verbal/ emotional abuse.

I don't think we did. I also remember they wheeled him out onto the live show even though he was clearly off his face on pain killers.

I do think shows like Strictly and Dancing On Ice (which has gone the same way) need to recalibrate. Unless you are seasoned West End Performer or professional athlete you will never be able to attain those standards without seriously hurting yourself or putting yourself in danger of serious injury.
