The only thing I saw was her sweetly supporting him when competing in Birmingham recently with a large group of other strictly folk/friends, which is not different at all to Rose going to Gio’s shows or Gorka cheering on Maisie at her tour. to be fair to him i think saying “katya has nothing to do with this!!!” or similar in his post would just make it look suspicious af but i absolutely agree with your post overall. they had the baby extremely quickly after meeting iirc and he seems a very intense sort. his girlfriend was so besotted with him though from what i remember.

That's a really interesting thing to say. I wonder who everyone would say in the whole twenty years of Strictly is the celebrity that's been on that they find it hardest to believe accepted going on. The biggest name, prime point in their career, not a has been and OMG how did Strictly get them to agree!!!

Not defending him, it may have been his way of instantly obliterating it from his mind, however judging by the apology he later gave he knew he was near a pr disaster. It was really not a gracious moment for him, like me all viewers were For swimming fans though he did not even bother to shave his face which showed a bit of complacency, all swimmers 'shave down' to avoid the least possible drag in the water.

Nobody can apportion blame for the split but the Strictly interference from the media did not help the relationship, with Eiri releasing that tearful reaction. No doubt that the media machine will be at it again at the first sign of any 'connection' between pro and celeb, however after 20 years everyone should know where the headlines will be.

I just feel sorry for that little lad George who we can see both dote on, life will be different for him now.

I hate those ‘immediate’ interviews and feel so sorry for the athletes … especially when they’ve lost or been injured.

I mean, really … do we actually have to then struggle to say how they feel about losing without saying ‘well <insert commentators name>, how do I feel? Just dandy. It’s not like all that training, early starts, missing birthdays has been for nothing is it? I’m just so thrilled to have been here and got a sticker for turning up. Bring on the next couple of years of intensive training for nothing at all’.
