Jan Ravens! Didn’t her husband have a row with Craig in the bar after a show ,cos they thought she should still be in. I also got similar vibes from Sara Davies last year, she definitely started believing her own publicity.
Ah, Jan … I think Craig had been a bit Craig (or a bit series 4 which was allowed to be harsher than now), she was voted off and she pointed to someone in the audience … family? … and screeched I hope you’re happy now, Craig.

Good Times.
Now they all just act like they its a literal elimination and they are going to be taken off through the fire exit and shot.

Seems a late start. I thought it would be much sooner.
I’m guessing they’re getting rid of that gap in episodes between the launch and first live. I suppose it means the beeb aren’t struggling for something random to fill the slot but I kind of liked that strictly was on a little bit longer.

Of all years they really could’ve done something spectacular to fill that gap for the 20th series. As chaotic as it would be, I would love to have seen a massive group dance with as many past pros and celebs as possible.

They could easily have done a another pro special with current and former pros/contestants. Especially if the brought some from the first few series. It wouldn’t even need to be more than an hour.. 90 mins tops. It couldn’t even be that costly really. Some talking heads and throw in a new dance or two and bobs your uncle.

Dear BBC schedulers. I am asking you please pull the ‘sunday night’ show just put it on, on a Saturday you’ll only need a 15/20 min slot and it’ll save the spoiler stress and the one celeb who didn’t get the don’t spoil the illusion memo, when they post a Sunday night story of them in their PJs at home watching a film with a glass of wine.

They originally changed it to Sunday in order to present a challenge to the X Factor Sunday night show, but they stuck with it as it makes SCD more family friendly - from what I remember, depending on what else was on, the Saturday results on some occasions started as late as 9:45 and finished after 10pm.

I hated the Sunday show to start with, but I’m used to it now. Plus there’s always the rare treat of someone commenting on how good it is that they all happily shlep to Shepherds Bush to put their make-up and costumes back on for half an hour on a Sunday night 😁

On the other hand, the Sunday results show regularly gets them over 40% of the vote share at peak time for no extra outlay at all.
Spidey senses say they are quite happy with things. Even with spoilers.

Really? I didn’t know it did that well. Aah they definitely won’t change it then.

The September 17th launch show date isn't new information, it was announced more than a week ago, there's a thread on digital spy about it which started 12th August.

And it gives many the opportunity to demand the BBC stop “lying” to us by pretending it’s a live show. 🤦‍♀️

Same as last year isn’t it? Launch show was 18 September, first live show was 25 September?

Yes, there hasn't been a gap between the launch show and first live show since 2019.

They should have started a couple weeks earlier this year as there is a risk of a couple of clashes and delays in the latter part of the series due to the World Cup in Nov/Dec

That would have been easier, they could have had Blackpool week as the final and that would have been a nice throwback to the earlier series when the final was held at Blackpool, and something a bit different for the 20th series. As it is, it looks like a couple of the December shows will be moving days, the ticket page did say that but now it just says 'December dates are coming soon', so I guess they're still trying to work out the schedule 🤷‍♀️

I suppose the ones they will be struggling with will be the first 2 weekends in December with the knock outs and QF’s. I think ITV have the first picks for those games so depending on if/where in the group England and Wales qualify will probably determine where Strictly falls.

England and Wales are group b, so going with fantasy land and one qualifies top and the other second (hold on tight to the dream) then their next games will be Saturday 3rd at 3.00pm for runner up and Sunday 4th at 7.00pm for the group winners.

If they both get through their match, it means for the winners of the match on 3 December, their QF will fall on Friday 9 December and the winners of 4 December will be on Saturday 10 December at 7.00pm (this is the potentially interesting one because if it does turn out to be England, it most likely will be on ITV). Semi finals take place in the week and then Saturday 17th at 3pm is the third place play off with the final on the Sunday.

I think for the first 12 or so days of the group stages there mabye some shuffling sound of the channels and It Takes Two may be slightly more mobile around the time slots than normal, but it’s the 3rd and 11th weekends that could bring the big changes.

That really riles me! 🙄

Oh god. I know! Literally no one on the show pretends it's live 🙄

Personally, I don't look for spoilers and I love the anticipation of finding out who is in the DO the following night. Makes more of a weekend of it.

However, I do agree about spoiler stress. Even if you don't go looking for spoilers some daft nob posts about it somewhere they shouldn't.

My worst is on DS when someone will say something like, "I won't give it away but that person was the weakest dancer and after being in the DO last week deserved to go."

Wow, thanks for not giving anything away there 😁 I just avoid SM from about an hour after the live show now.

This times 1000.

I thought there was going to be a one off special about strictly this year, something to do with the anniversary of the BBC or something like that? It was mentioned months ago but I haven’t heard anything else since so i’m assuming it’s not happening.
