Isabel likes to comment on her mum being old a lot, but doesn't make any allowances for her age when travelling.

I've travelled with my mum at similar age, and just taking it a little slower, checking she's ok/following you, discussing ideas etc and just being a bit more considerate makes things a lot easier. And it doesn't have to slow you down much either.

She's only 60 for God's sake, it's really not old and the fact that Isabel thinks it is demonstrates her immaturity. Yes, her mum may have fitness issues but unless she has underlying health conditions then there's no reason to constantly patronise her in this way. I'm not much younger and have many friends in their 60s, most of them are a lot fitter than their offspring

Like Kevin and Claudia last year, I think Eugenie and Isabel are also going to be a parent and child that will never have a particularly close bond. They’re both as bad as each other imo. Eugenie comes across as a really immature pain in the hole and Isabel seems like a massive brat. Neither willing to listen to each other. As miserable as Claudia was, I could kind of sympathise because I’d have ended up banged up abroad if I’d had to travel with Kevin.

I agree that Eugenie and Isabel are both irritating. Isabel is coming across worse imo, she comes across as very immature. I can’t understand how they haven’t spoken about her mums life when she was young? Very odd! I would be interesting to know how the pair of them feel watching the show and seeing how their relationship comes across.

Stephen is irritating to watch but I suspect he is a kind decent man underneath. I don’t mind Viv, it was interesting hearing about her accident and I loved her reaction to the pink dolphins.

My favourites are still the boys, followed by Betty and James(although Betty seems to think she’s a bit superior to James at times).

I feel a bit like Betty thinks she's these seasoned backpacker but then doesn't seem quite as savvy as you'd expect!

Amazing the boys made up that 11 hours so much. I've never been to Thailand but it looks so beautiful. Sadly I don't think I would ever get there as my OH and I are utterly pathetic in heat and humidity 😩

(Nice to see the Celeb version won a BAFTA last night).

I was reading about episode 7 and a good 😊 spoiler that makes me happy. Though you just know it’s going to go tits up!

I love Wednesday as I get my next fix!
One hour whizzes by though the annoying girls sections drag…

Just putting it out there but watching Isobel and eugiene is like watching my daughter and our relationship. My daughter has had everything, my time, love and patience. At 19 she is rude, entitled, immature and lacks any understanding of anyone other than people she chooses to have in her bubble. I can’t ever say anything right, everything is my fault and quite frankly in eugienes words I’m her punch bag. However when she’s in trouble or needs help good old mum is always here. There is never any empathy towards me and her dad, never no interest in what we do it’s all about her and she criticises us constantly. Easy to say eugiene is a narc but it’s honestly exhausting and soul destroying. I love my daughter endlessly but there comes a point where you do give up and retreat into yourself as your at a loss of what to do
Everyone who meets my daughter says she’s such good fun and lovely and it makes me question myself all the time as is it me.? Our son even says he hates how she treats us as he sees it first hand too so don’t always assume it’s the mother
I genuinely hope for things to get better with my daughter but I can’t see it to be honest and it upsets me as I had such a lovely special bond with my mum

Anyway back to the race, I’m routing for Alfie and Owen which after episode one I never thought I’d say it Betty and James. Seems to me that the most unlikeable couples always win apart from season 2 (I liked them) the ones from season one experienced nothing same with season three and I think Steve and viv will pip it this time. For me Betty and James are the ones embracing the home stays and getting more of an experience than the others
