I'm surprised at the comments on Harry's mum. I think most mums would feel that way, one day he was there the next he was gone. No time to adjust or prepare.

It's certainly a common form of 'grief' when the kids move out

No different to parents talking about empty nest syndrome when their kids go off to University. I knew exactly what she meant. It didn't sound weird to me.

I'm totally rooting for Billy and Bonnie. His spirit and whole attitude since his accident is nothing short of remarkable. Finding positivity and new purpose in life can't be easy.

And his determination, that Sport Relief Challenge he did, this, it's a very physical challenge, and he's just doing it, and pushing through. It's so admirable.

And he just comes across as the most lovely young man, good presenter on Channel 4's F1 coverage.

And his sister seems so supportive of him, not sure about her plans though, that hotel idea was overly ambitious to blag such a free ride.

I think it was just the over the top manner of it and then no modifier like “and now I see that’s a bit far”. She didn’t speak about him in the context of empty nest syndrome for me, she spoke about him like he was dead… and he wasn’t.

Yes and then not to go on to say how proud she was of him for realising his dream or some such. I felt bad for him, it’s like she was trying to make him feel guilty for using his talent.

That's the vibe I got too, I understand empty nest syndrome and the grief but it was all grief and no balance, nothing about how great it was at how successful he had become. It was like he had died and she was never going to see him again.

But its only 1 episode.

I too am finding Harry's mum a bit much. He left home to follow his dream and became very successful, but she still treats him like the 17yr old who 'abandoned' her.
Alex needs to lighten up, he's too serious. I like his dad though.
Billy and Bonny are my favourites so far.
I was a bit meh about a celeb version, but I'm liking it better than the Canada series.

I was a bit meh about a celeb version, but I think it's already better than the Canada series.

Cross Europe is a great journey, I found the Canadian series a bit samey.
Billy and Bonny are really impressive.

Alex is comedy gold. Shades of Richard Madeley about him!
Can you believe this is the guy that brought down Piers Morgan 🤣. He’s so dry it’s painful. His dad must be a saint to have agreed to doing this with him. Love Bonny and Billy, they are just getting on with it, their parents must be so proud.
This series is 100% better than the last one, Thank god, and no gushing pairs like the ladies that won they got a bit icky!

As long as Alex Beresford doesn't win I don't mind 🤣 although his dad seems a really nice guy tbf
Alex is coming across so so badly....

That drama over a teeny tiny piece of octopus.....really! lets have a full scale dramatic moment trying to select the tiniest piece of octopus to try, then after its been in his mouth, the toddler behaviour of spitting it out and dramatically dashing to the toilet before puking loudly ........ really! Why on earth did you do this series Alex?

But its his inability to cope with anyone coming in front of him is coming across as downright rude. I get he wants to win....yes....a bit of competitive spirit is fine. But being rude about other contestants to their face, as he was with Billy and Bonny beating him in the first episode is horrible.
Its meant to be lighthearted and fun. (And Billy is an amputee...what about a bit of extra consideration for him,)

Im liking 3 couples at the moment, with Billy and Bonny my favourites to win!

Yeah that came across as really weird to me. Did she expect him to live at home forever?

I think its the way its been edited..... I think most mums would find it a bit odd to have a 17 year old leave home nowadays. If he was the youngest of 3, and she wasnt expecting it, it must be a bit hard. She lost the closeness and the connection to her son.

And his band became so ultra successful so quickly, he was probably touring or recording after that so barely went home again, and when he did he was an adult.

Just caught up on episode 2.

Loving this series so far.

It was nice to see two you tubers I use to follow, Josh and Charlie (Wandering Home), they were the couple who helped Mel and Helene on the train. They have come off youtube now but followed them for years from the van life community.

Billy and Bonny are so good together, I wouldn't have got out of morocco with my siblings! Defo my favourites to win at the moment!
