The celeb series was supposed to start tomorrow night, but it's being delayed because of the earthquake in Morocco, where the race started:

This always strikes me as so daft. I understand when it’s something like an episode of casualty that’s basically replicating a disaster that happened in real life, but they were just in Morocco? Unless they were all making earthquake jokes constantly, which seems unlikely, I don’t see why it has to be delayed.

Weird decision, it’s not like it’s a whole series set in Morocco or trying to sell it as a holiday destination.
If anything they could have run a short aid appeal afterwards and an announcement before in case it’s triggering for anyone with relatives out there.
They obviously aren’t relying on it to be the hit of the autumn schedule.

A new air date has been announced for the celebrity version. It will now air on the 20th of September. The decision to delay airing it is pointless espically as the new air date is only a week later than when it was originally set to air.

Yeah I really don’t get this decision at all. Seems so stupid to me.

Did anyone watch it? I think they're stretching the 'celeb' term a bit far with most of them. Also we didn't sob stories that weren't really sob stories (Mum misses son as he goes off to drum in a band).

I was starting to drift off from it the last 15 mins - not really captivating me yet like the first 2 series did.

We watched and enjoyed it .
Mel is spoilt her Mum is lovely .
Alex we don't like but his Dad is brilliant.
Bonnie and Johnny are out favourite couple . What amazing young people, Johnny especially what a wonderful young man his family must be so proud of him . I like Harry and his Mum but Johnny & Bonnie are my favourite.
Loved seeing the different places

I found it a bit dull, don’t know whether it’s cos they are ‘celebs’ so more pampered or cos it’s Europe so nothing really new to see. Plus they have a huge budget, so despite relying on taxis they all still have loads left.

That said I’m routing for Billy and Bonnie, really positive attitudes and thinking outside the box, so sad none of her friends were at that hotel in Portugal, laughed when they went to the tanning place, we were persuaded to visit one in Marrakech and still do impersonations of the man talking about pigeon tit!

Loved it, already better than the last normal series. Feels like there is actual jeopardy and diversity in transportation methods.

I'm not usually a fan of celeb shows but none of them seem over powering personalities and their family members seem nice. Not a big Alex fan but he is tolerable in this

Surprised to see comments about stretching the celeb name though. I'd say they are all good known names. Certainly better than showd like celeb masterchef and even strictly.

I really enjoyed it. I actually didn't dislike any of the contestants - Alex is a bit dry but you can see this journey should be transformative for him. In previous series there's always been a couple of people I really didn't take to. Last time Zainab was a hard one to take to and the Dad that ran the pub was a knob.

The thing I love most about it is it's so inspiring, teaches you about different parts of the world and my teenagers happily watch it with me which is increasingly rare these days.

We've just watched the first episode, love that it's back to multiple counties again. I don't mind that it's celebs as none are overly recognisable so likely it won't make too much of a difference.

I think early doors we are rooting for Billy and Bonnie, great relationship and getting stuck in. She's really supportive of her brother.

Liked the others but Harry's mum I feel may annoy me. Was a bit weird when she made out like he had lost her son when he became a drummer and made millions🙃

Kept saying that to my husband when we watched it. Why was she saying things about being heartbroken when he left home as if it wasn’t to live his dream and pay her mortgage off 🤨🤨🤨

Just caught up with the first episode and have to say it's already a million times better than the Canada series! Love Billy and Bonnie, really hope they win. Also like Harry and Emma, and would like them to do well too. Both couples seem to remember that is not just about the race but about experiencing the culture. Alex seems a bit of a fun sponge, but I love his dad's attitude. Mel hasn't got the memo about enjoying the culture and is spending far too much money on taxis to be interesting. I hope she listens to her mum and slums it a bit!
