It really feels like they're trying to make us hate Daemon. I understand that he's angry and frustrated but I just didn't buy the choking. Maybe grabbing her roughly or something, but not choking her like that.

Also I'm sorry, but I still love Aemond. Boy knows he done fucked up.
this is what i said if he had grabbed her sholders it would have given the same feeling without it going to far. Like show and book had daemon only caring about him family, now hes choking the 1 person he loves. I dont buy it. If they had truly made him this grey/dark from the begining fine i would have no problem but it just comes across they dont want anyone to like him its also why i think they have cut all the secens that show him human. Aemond is totally gonna have to take being a kinslayer the greens will never let the world know he can't control the oldest dragon. Unless the writters want us to some how feel more bad for them

Oh man, this last episode was so so good. Brilliant acting from Emma D'Arcy, they were amazing. 👏👏 Tbh I haven't even missed Milly! Haha
I live in a city very close to a filming location for Dragonstone and I absolutely loved seeing glimpses of the village throughout the series! 🥰 It's a beautiful village and very close to my heart as it's where me and my husband went for a lovely walk when we first started dating! Pretty amazing saying we kissed where Daemon and Rhaenyra got married and she was crowned! 😅
Really curious to know whether they'll film there again!

I just watched the episode at last.
I thought it was incredible. Agree with everything here. It's even more annoying that it's a 2 year wait! I agree Daemon didn't need to choke Rhaenyra. That was distressing, and as the people said in the Twitter thread above, Daemon in the books is light and dark, not all evil. He hates everyone, loves war but loves his family. Again, Daemon redeemed by MS's silent acting after the baby's death and when he was telling Rhenerya about Lukes death. I think the same about Aemond. He didn't mean to kill Luke, but he's young, was enraged because Luke didn't follow his orders and that he couldn't control Vhaegar and was clouded by rage. He probably realised afterwards that he'd killed his cousin that he'd gone too far. Re the birth scene, yes, I think there should have been a trigger warning over the stillbirth. I know that birth was often a killer in the middle ages, but birth gone wrong written as entertainment by men seems a bit uncomfortable to me when done so often.

I wonder if Emilia Clarke's high valyrian was supposed to be rubbish on purpose? At the start she seemed to put a lot of effort into making it sound imperfect as you'd expect for someone not raised surrounded in the culture. But other times she said it in a British accent with no attempt. Like here:

In fairness to Emilia, you can learn High Valeryan on Duolingo now 😄 Impressive singing in High Valeryan by Daemon

I feel like a dragon rider deciding what spoilers to click 😬 and what's a real book spoiler and what's a post about an aired episode

Spoiler: Do we still need spoilers?
No, not for an episode. There's a bit of a history with over spoiling on tattle. If it's aired at its prime time slot then it's not a spoiler. People know what they're getting into when they click to read this thread. It's not like social media where posts will appear in timelines.

I feel that the series has been very pedestrian and one paced so far. It has taken us 10 weeks to get here and yet so little seems to have happened in the way of getting you on the edge of your seat. The big reveal last week was telegraphed early on and you could see where that was leading from the start. I said to my wife he wouldn’t be coming back as soon as she gave him his task. The joy of GoT is that it constantly threw you curve balls and have you interesting story arcs for so many different characters. There was dark humour and intrigue coming at you from all quarters. This just plods and seems very claustrophobic in comparison. Hopefully the next series will broaden its horizons with the inclusion of other Houses and a bigger mix of characters and interactions.

I am excited for the North to get involved next season (die hard Stark fan here lol)

I think the real question about Aemond in S2 is whether or not he’ll “own” what he did. No matter how he’s feeling at the time, I can’t see him mourning for Luke.
Cos what will be seen as worse -
Being a ‘kinslayer’, or having it known his dragon doesn’t fully obey him. (Have to admit, I rewound it a couple of times to properly understand what ‘serve me!’ meant from both Aemond and Luke.)

This always bugged me too! It’s such a contrast hearing it from the Targaryens in HotD in comparison.
It was the inconsistency that annoyed me, I think they went into it with a lot of thought and then gave up. Then again Danny was surrounded by Missandei who was supposed to be a master of 19 languages but struggled with the common tongue and grey worm who you could hear a cockney slipping out. Hey ho it's easy to judge from the sidelines 😆. They did have a lot to do in a short timeframe.

The quality of actors overall does feel higher in HotD.

He will have to own it, there's no way otto willet the world know he can't control the oldest dragon, better be knows as a kinslayer
Exactly. Which is why I don’t understand why some people (book readers) are up in arms about Luke’s death being an accident because it’s not told like that in F&B. It will only further embolden Aemond’s character for the reasons you mentioned.

Matt Smith’s singing in valerian to a random dragon in the dark was a perfect mix between ludicrous and hot 😂
Is there nothing he can’t do? I love how he goes from slicing heads off to singing lullabies to soothe dragons. What a man 😂

He’s definitely been the stand-out of the season.
