We had Syrax near Rhaenyra. Vermithor behind and Silverwing flying? So where were Seasmoke (and Vermax). Too costly lol?

Maybe since there were already rumors of Seasmoke having a rider the Blacks only wanted to confirm the other two had found riders as well. (Or yeah, too costly 🤣)

Lack of Ser Crispy made this episode already a good one, in my opinion 😁
And yeah, they really need to give Alicent something to do, other than said Ser Crispy.

I saw a theory that this episode marks the official descent of Alicent into madness. So maybe there won't be much more for her to do. She's powerless. Lonely. Her children don't care for her and she kind of low-key hates them, except for Helaena. And she ends up nuts anyway, right? So I guess we're getting her there.

Okay, so I've finally caught up with the last two episodes and I have a theory about Aemond and Vhagar...

We've seen Aemond twice now struggle to control Vhagar (which, fair, she's a mahoosive war machine of a dragon) but I wonder if it hints to something in Aemond?
We know that dragons and their riders are bonded and have seen the dragons react to their riders emotions...Aemond presents as this controlled, calculating warrior prince but I feel that Vhagar is responding to the cruel slightly unleashed side of him that's only been shown in flashes so far! She wants to attack because she knows that's actually his true nature!?

Apologies for the ramble...was just something that popped into my head whilst watching the last scene!
Can't believe it's the last episode next week!!

I agree here, it also harks back to Vhagar’s original rider being Queen Visenya, who was a fierce warrior herself known for her ruthlessness.

There’s an online joke/meme going around about how Vhagar has dementia and believes Aemond is Visenya and they’re fighting the Dornish like they did in the past 😂

People said that in season 1, that Vhagar was feeding off his deep inner thoughts of actually wanting to kill Luke.
I love Ewan Mitchell and his portrayal but the writing of Aemond (and others) was a bit all over the place at times, I just wish they'd fleshed him out a bit more to explain the complete 180 move from vulnerable and confessing his regret to heading towards complete nutbar. Not saying it doesnt make sense and its in line with book Aemond, and he always said he should be king but why make those changes to him then completely snap back to book character.

I REALLY wish we had gotten the scene of him returning from Storms End, with Alicent and Otto. It would have explained the coldness between then in their first scene in S2EP1

I think they wanted to humanize the character instead of giving us another Joffrey, who’s truly just evil for no apparent reason at all.

I loved that they gave him more sides as opposed to book Aemond who is totally black, the face of regret after killing Luke was a great touch but I feel they did nothing with it after that. We got a brief "I regret it" then one incident with Aegon and that was it. I'd rather it was built up a bit.
I think the show suffered with only 8 episodes as opposed to 10.

I'm on the Hugh lust train, not normally my type but phewwww

My petty petty complaint is that this season they seem to have forgotten that Alicent is the namesake of the GREENS and she now wears exclusive TEAL blue coloured dresses. Teal blue is not green!!

I don't want this season to end! But I can't wait for tonight/tomorrow.
