I really want to buy it, but I spoilerised so much of GoT by reading the books, and I liked the TV series more than books. I might do it anyway.

Tbf I think the fact that they have black actors playing the Velaryons sort of cancels that part out. Daemon’s daughters to Laena are obviously black and Rhaenyra’s boys (who are supposed to be Laenor’s) aren’t

I love Rhaena and Baelas hair and whole look is so striking. It was a good decision, I think to have made the Velaryons Black.

Lord knows why some people get precious about the colour or ethnicity of actors. Steve and Eve as Corlys and Rhaneys are killing it. Westerosi power couple goals

Thanks I had a read. Interesting about the hairstyles. It looks like they will play a bigger part in season 2. I suppose they will be married to Rhaenyras remaining elder boys.

I love Corlys' and Rhaenys' (if that's their name s??) but the two granddaughters' hair looks like they've plonked some too big wigs on them imo. Awful. I think it's jarring.

I plan to do the same. I'm rather ashamed to admit that I bought the boxset of all seven books, several years ago when Game of Thrones was airing and I've never got around to reading it!

The sheer volume is pretty daunting, but I still plan to give it a go.

No it’s written in a normal font! Thank god. I can’t read the original GOTs because the books are so compact and the font is tiny. Gives me a headache

I've cracked, but downloaded it on my kindle so I can blow up the text size.

I know what you mean, but at the same time I'd rather it's not too rushed and people burnt out and done with it like GoT got. There's a limit to how much you can expand the team to get it done. Although it's no doubt part a commercial decision by HBO to stretch out their big shows and keep the subs.

So much effort goes into it overall, like the 3 3d printers running continuously to make the model of Valyria.

I'm sad that we've now got to wait so long for the next season.

I suspect that Corlys and Rhaenys might change sides during the war depending on how it's all going. After all Daemon killed Vaemond and they suspect that Rhaenyra was complicit in the death of Leanor.

I've seen a theory that he'll come back disguised as one of the dragon seeds to ride his dragon (seasmoke I think).

Gutted I’ve only found this thread now I actually can’t believe how much I enjoyed it, compared with the ending of GOT. So good! Can’t believe how long Viserys hung on for.. I was adamant at the start of every episode he’d have gone.

I get the feeling Corlys and Rhaenys don't care about Vaemond, because he was trying to usurp Corlys and Luke when he was sliced

Just got it and at least going to read up until where S1 ended. It might enhance it in a way to see where it deviates.
