No one watched the final episode yet?

As a 31 yo woman without kids I have to say that this entire season really put me off getting pregnant for another couple of years. 😂 But it was very touching the way they showed her birth and the scene where she wrapped the baby for the funeral really made me shed a tear.

What was the deal with Deamon chocking her? Was it because he was angry that Viserys didn't tell him about the prophecy?

And the last scene with Aemond, wow! It's hard to believe there was only a few years difference between him and Jace. The difference in dragons size was also amazing, I loved how they were both talking to the dragons in valyrian and how the dragons didn't give a duck. Judging by his reaction Aemond never meant to kill Jace, he just wanted his eye? And when the dragon fell he probably realised that he started a war now?

I can't believe we'll have to wait another two years now. 😭

I have! And I agree with all your points (especially the frustration of having to wait two years 😭)

I think part of why he was choking her was that Viserys never shared the prophecy with him (because he never intended for Daemon to be his heir) but also because he was furious with Rhaenyra in that moment. She wanted to take the “soft” approach like her father, trying to keep the peace and he couldn’t bear the thought of that. Not only was it no secret that he thought his brother was a weak King and that he cause all this mess in the first place with trying to placate others, but Daemon hates Otto Hightower. I think a part of him is also thirsty for war. He’s ruthless.

I was quite interested that they changed the way the Aemond/Luke scene happened. It gave Aemond some humanity in that he didn’t intend to kill his nephew but also that he understood the consequences of Luke’s death and what that now means for the realm (any chance of peace seems lost). The tit is about to hit the fan. The dragons’ disobedience also harks back to what Viserys told young Rhaenyra about how them being able to “control” the dragons is just an illusion.

“A dragon is not a slave” - Daenerys Targaryen.

Matt in glasses is doing things to me.

Oh definitely he never wanted to kill, only to maim or seriously injure. He knows exactly what he's set into motion. Although seems unlikely anyone else would know what happened, I'd deny all knowledge if I was Aemond.

Although if dragons really do their own thing it seems a tad odd that such a big old dragon like Vhagar decides to serve after 30 seconds of looking into her eyes.

Apparently all the writers ect for season 1 are leaving. (Make that make sense) but unless season 2 is slowed down I don't think I can watch 🙈which makes me so sad. But this was just so stupidly fast for me. I also don't really like some of the changes like Rhaenys hair. That shouldn't have been changed.

I also can't get on board about it all starting over a misunderstanding like otto Hightower didn't start this over a misunderstanding 🤣
As I have been impatient, I have been reading about the books, but not the actual books. The TV writers seem to be determined to make Daemon a one dimensional baddie. In the books for example he carries Laenas dead body into their home and stands vigil over it. He also is not violent to Rhaenyra. They have cut out scenes that show him to show affection to his daughters. The writers then seem annoyed that people still like him! I hope if the writing team is changing they will let the characters become deeper and more nuanced.

the writer are defo annoyed everyone likes daemon its the only reason they have taken the parts that make him more human out of the show. I mean there a bit in episode 10 that they took out and it was him going to rhaenyra when she gives birth, im sorry your not telling me he wasnt rhere for her nope sorry. The choking was bull to me like he wouldn't hurt her not when she's 1 of the few people he cared for. Now they could have easily done the same thing but grabbed her sholders instead would have given the same point and feeling but without going to far. For me unless they actually slow down I won't be able to watch, I also can't stand how there trying to make me be sympathetic to the green side, there both bad and will do bad things. I also cant get on board with the misunderstandingof naming ageon king, im sorry does alicent really think her ra*ist, going to child fighting rings son who didnt even want the throne is really who the king was talking about come on, no way.

Yes the whole thing makes no sense. Surely writers would want nuance in the characters! If I was Matt Smith or GRRM I would be annoyed at the way they have cut the scenes

for me it should have ended at viserys death and then season 2 can be the start. It would have then gave season 1 more time to actually develop the characters properly and not have the big time jumps (which i HATED) for me as well if they just want deamon to be the bad guys fine but then aemond need to just be the bad guy as well, are they truly not going to have him do the war crimes. I dont actually mind how lucerys died by accidentin a way but surely aemond knew there was only 1 way out and that was someone dying

I can forgive the direction the show is taking the characters in because by all accounts, no one knows the truth of what actually went down (unreliable narrative). Excited to see what’s to come in season 2. I know there’s a while to wait but for now I’ll just enjoy the discussions, memes and any future cast announcements etc. 🙂

This moment was insane.
This filled me with equal parts dread and awe. 😰

Love the sneaky Dobby quote 🙈💛🥰

That's actually a very good point, it was impossible to have a different ending either way. Aemond probably went into this without thinking it through, maybe he just wanted to scare him, but there was no way of "only maiming or seriously injuring" in this situation, it was either killing him or giving up and leaving him alone.

The series finale was excellent. The series on the whole has been great and the time skips are more forgivable when reflecting on the series as a whole. Mad that I felt such a range of emotions during the last episode compared to outright boredom for the whole of Rings of Power.
Is ring's of power dull? I was going to watch it after HOTD. May have to renew my now TV sub and rewatch GOT😄
