Sorry if I come across like a know-it-all or waffle on a bit here, I’m just really excited to have people to discuss this series with. My husband hasn’t bothered reading the books and although he’ll watch the show he isn’t as invested in it as I am. 😂 🫣
Not at all. It's great that we can ask you questions. I haven't read the books but watched all of Game of Thrones.

So is Danaerys descended from one (or more) of Daemon and Rhaenyra's children?

Daenerys (and by extension Jon) are descended from Daemon and Rhaenyra’s son, little Viserys II who we saw in the latest episode being introduced to his grandfather.

Both their children Aegon III and Viserys II become King further down the line.

Noooooooo I love your comments!!! It’s not the easiest to follow.
I feel like such a sicko but I just love Daemon and Rhaenyra’s relationship. I wonder if he truely loves her or if it’s still about power.

I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that he does love her and that he and R are the ones we're supposed to root for. Feels that way given Allicent's children have all turned out a bit nuts and behave like they wouldn't make very good kings

Four seasons according to GRRM.

If the show follows the book, the Blacks do some pretty terrible things of their own during the war. I do feel like the showrunners are making them the more sympathetic bunch so that the viewers have a side to root for, because that’s what viewers want. The characters are all morally grey and as it’s told in textbook narrative, the show has had to give the characters more dimension i.e Alicent in the book is several years older than Rhaenyra and although they were amicable enough in the beginning, there is no mention of them having this great friendship. It’s an addition for the show.

That’s good news! I did think 5 was stretching it a bit, but didn’t know how much of the story they were planning to tell (up to the end of the Dance or beyond that).

There’s also the Snow sequel coming, which I’m excited about if George is involved.

Preview for the next episode:

So the young serving girl who Aegon raped...was she paid off and the drink was to prevent a pregnancy?
yes but I kept anticipating a Cersei like reaction and having a Zombielike Mountain 'take' care of the problem. I liked how Alicent was given credit for looking after the king during his illness. In fairness Rhaenyra’s got to have all the fun sleep around and marry D in the end.

I'm rooting for the greens because I love an underdog side/morally grey character. Alicent has had to what she's been told her whole life and she has to watch Rhaenyra do what she likes whenever she likes for the most part! I would be mental as well 😂

Not to say I don't love Rhaenyra and Daemon as well 🥲

Ah, I love them all. I also love to hate a character and Otto does that to me (as does Criston). I love that they all have their reasons for being the way that they are and none of them are perfect.

sir incelot 🤌🤌🤌🤌 very apt nickname haha

Paddy is such a great actor, like I forget that viserys is not a real person sometimes

I do think it's gotten consistently better over the last few episodes. this episode was quite good. it instils me with confidence that they have a set amount of seasons, too. part of the problem with GOT was that they fucked that up, which must have been a blow George RR Martin is keen to avoid repeating. if they can plan it all from start to finish then hopefully the pacing will be better

I think GoT started to unravel when GRRM stepped away from the show runner team and they ran out of cannon material. Hopefully this won't be the case with HoD as the book is written. Only time will tell.
