I feel like theyre skipping details to get the plot moving/things out of the way. Laena had about 5-10 minutes of speaking time if that before she died and they had this big swelling music to show it as being significant but it's like, even though of course it was terrible, it didn't feel like a real loss because we didn't have the chance to get to know her. it feels like any subplots quickly get squished to serve the main plot, to the extent they're not really subplots at all (e.g. the relationship between Laena and Daemon got axed so Daemon is freed up for Rhaenyra again...)

They did the same thing with Harwin, his dad, Joffrey, Rhea....all to advance the main plot...when Tywin died in GOT for example, it didn't just feel like it was to advance the plot, same with the Starks etc. They were fully fleshed out characters and their deaths felt like a loss in isolation, not just because it would set off xyz chain of events. we are missing subplots that build the characters up and that IMV made early-S4 GOT so good.

I think the time jump has not worked well with this because again we're told rather than properly shown about all these developments between characters, e.g. laenor being a scrub, criston cole becoming an incel basically (which makes him seem like a 2D bad guy). and then rhaenyra extending the olive branch to alicent as if the tensions have been going on for a number of weeks rather than years, presumably to reestablish her as a sympathetic character

i think the writers can still pull it back at this point but I have concerns :/

I feel somewhat the same I would of loved to see the relationship with Rhaenyra and Harwin grow into what it was and seen them alone together, the same with Daemon and Laena.
I picked up on Viserys not questioning why Rhaenyra was out of her birthing bed so soon, Alicent has made her do this before.
I liked the cast change but would of like to see more of the build up to the events in this episode. Daemon getting married and have two kids was a big deal. I want to see the lead up to that and also why he isn't living in Westros.
The fact that they cut a scene with Daemon hugging his daughters after Laena died but left in the wanking window scene!! 🙈🤷‍♂️

I'm not massively keen on the different actresses. Alicent has had a complete character transplant. I know it's to show maturity but she's completely different ten years on. 😂

It also doesn't make sense that characters like Ser Christon look no different, despite not being old before the time hop.

It's hard to root for any character when they're all so awful. This article sums it up:

The time jump was a bit weird and it's a shame we don't know anything about Daemon and Rhaenyra's relationships which have both been abruptly ended. Now there's so many in the family it's hard to remember names and who is who.

I really like Olivia Cook as Alicent but am less enamoured with the actress playing Rhanaeyra, she seemed dull and lacking the spirit of her predecessor.

Loved Aegon the wanker 😅 I thought he was going to fall off and die with a smile on his face when he got too excited 😊

I read somewhere speculation that the disease he has is Leprosy. I don't know if that's true or not, but if he did have Leprosy why hasn't anyone else got it?

I struggled with who everyone was before the time jump… after, I’ve no hope! Was damons wife the little girl who was offered to the king, originally? In the time jump they looked the same age if it was meant to be her. Why did ser Christon look no different?!
I recognise the actress who now plays Alicent, what has she been in before?
