Your tips on how to look more Groomed, Glamorous or Polished #13

Are there any eye masks/creams that actually reduce dark circles?

I don't mean the barely there, pink/lilac, a dab of concealer and a good night's sleep and they'll go away kind of circles, I mean the dark deep ones that just won't go away for love nor money.
It cosmetics one is pretty hard core

I know the L’Oréal BB cream has come up a few times in this thread, but I've just gotta rave about it some more!!

I've NEVER known anything other than no makeup or full face - until recently I tried out this BB cream at a friends house. I didn't think it would work for me as I am extremely fair skinned and my friend is less so, but WOW! It makes my skin just glow?! Really evens out the complexion, feels like nothing on the skin, whack it on with your hands and it seems to last comfortably all day. No idea what I was doing before I discovered it tbh and feel so much more put together with this, some masacara, blush, and lip crayon.

Phew, feel like I need to write "not spons" after that 😅

Yes to this! I curse all the days I spent wearing foundation, I’ll never buy another one. I sparingly use a different sheer glowy product but l’ve never worn less base makeup and I’ve never looked so good. Concealer picks up the slack on any problem areas I might be having. Less is more!

It’s better than the Trinny BFF and a third of the price.

(I enjoy that "Hell" translates to "light" in German)

This blog post might be helpful! She talks about ingredients to look out for.

I have blue undereye circles. I'm pale skinned and find my concealers and foundations tone my undereyes green or lilac depending on the shade. I know the theory of using a peach or orange product to cancel out the blue but can anyone recommend such a product that'll work with very little other makeup? I've seen the NYX colour correcting palette but it looks a bit waxy and more suited to a heavier hand - maybe I'm wrong about that? Any thoughts?

Do you apply it like foundation?

Off to buy some, thanks all.

Have you tried bobby brown peach corrector? I also heard good things about RMS. For more affordable brands LA girl and Revolution do a good dupe

Can I ask what skin type you have? Mine is combination and seems to eat a lot of bases

Is there a nice cream blush out there. I have both Trinny and Bobbi Brown and both make me look like a clown
Chantecaille liquid blush is fab, very expensive but a tube lasts me well over a year

I'm gonna buy the Loreal BB cream going by you guys' recommendations - thank you!!
It’s such an underrated product. Often hiding on the L’Oréal shelf too. Don’t be alarmed when it comes out of the tube white, it adapts to your skin tone. The CC version is also excellent if you suffer from redness. It’s a green base.

I needed a new blusher and went to House of Fraser when we were in Glasgow. Nice young man at the Mac counter was very helpful and suggested a cream blusher.
He got me to choose the one I liked , then selected one he though would suit me.
He put them on my face, showed my how to apply them but didn’t tell me which was my choice and which was his.
One looked awful, one looked perfect….you can guess which one was his choice.
He even made me go outside to check the colour.
