Your tips on how to look more Groomed, Glamorous or Polished #13

I needed a new blusher and went to House of Fraser when we were in Glasgow. Nice young man at the Mac counter was very helpful and suggested a cream blusher.
He got me to choose the one I liked , then selected one he though would suit me.
He put them on my face, showed my how to apply them but didn’t tell me which was my choice and which was his.
One looked awful, one looked perfect….you can guess which one was his choice.
He even made me go outside to check the colour.
Were the 2 colours very different?

Is there a nice cream blush out there. I have both Trinny and Bobbi Brown and both make me look like a clown

Huge fan of the by Mario cream blush sticks. I will never use another. They are so pigmented, blend beautifully and just make me look like me but better.

Tan advice required please - I am deathly white. And up to this point, 35y/o, I’ve kind of just embraced it. However part of me gets a bit fed up of people saying I look ill all the time. I’m considering experimenting with a false tan/gradual tan but I’ve no idea where to start. I’m looking for brand recommendations from other pale peeps, and any advice applying. Thanks 😘

I love Pat McGrath balm blushes. Don’t make you look overdone, especially when you use a brush to apply
I also have liquid blushes from elf, revolution and maybelline and they’re very good also

as I’ve aged, I’ve switched from powders to creams or liquids

Bondi Sands gradual tan in the blue bottle is what I love for my mega pale skin. Gives you a nice glow from the first use which you can build up
I do have the mitt but I tend to just use my hands then wash them afterwards.

That’s what I use too I’m very pale and it’s the best least orange one I’ve found .

I really like the Cream Blushes from Merit Beauty. Great shape and they blend really easily. In a pinch they work well for lips as well.

I was going to say this too. I have the rouge and Beverley Hills colours and love them. They last forever too - I bought the Beverley Hills one last February when Merit launched in the UK and there’s still some left in the container.

This sounds mad but go for something that looks like your skin undertone, I love the St Tropez Ultra Dark tan, because it has a green tone to it so matches my olive skin tone. I can look *really* orange if I use the wrong tan. Bondi sands is also very good.

Wondering whether to get a lash lift done again, or just get extensions. I'm single again so need to start making an effort with my appearance after having been in a long distance relationship.

Also would love recommendations for best whitening products in stores? I don't know how I feel about ordering online so would feel better seeking whitening products from the high street, my teeth get stained a lot from all the tea I drink 😞

In the spirit of looking groomed and glamorous, what would you ask for as a 40th birthday gift? Would you prefer experiences (facials/treatments), or objects to keep? (Jewellery?)

I use Crest strips around once a week. I’m not sure if they’re available in the UK though.

Green hair.....Help
I've blonde tinted and highlighted hair and it's starting to go green. I have a water filter fitted in my house as our water is very hard. I think this might be the culprit. I adjusted the settings but no joy.
Also tried washing hair with red sauce but not sure if made any difference and shower looked like a crime scene

Have you tried a pink based toner

My 40th was during lockdown so my friends got me a bottle of vodka, six pack of diet coke and a box of alka seltzer 😂😂
I got some nice jewellery too. Either is good, I got my husband an experience.

When do you apply toner?
I use no7 and have got advent calendar this year so have lots of things to use.
My routine is
Am
Cleansing water
Serum
Eye cream
Day cream
Pm is the same just use facewash and night cream
When would I add the toner?
thank you ☺️

So I got totally influenced by this thread again and bought the L’Oréal Magic BB cream and oooh it’s lovely for every day wear to just take that look of death warned up off my face.
Was a bit disconcerting when it came out white but I went with the medium light which is a perfect match, I would say go a shade down if you’re unsure, I’m outdoors a lot so always have a bit of colour on my face but would have looked tangoed if I’d gone for the medium.
