Girls can anyone genuinely recommend a nail/hair vitamin? I don't usually buy into this but my nails/hair have been rubbish for a while now, thank you 💙
I take biotin but I don’t think it really does anything. But I diligently take it anyway! Using a nail oil has been the most helpful thing I’ve done for my nails, and actually using oil on my hair, alongside K18, has been good for my hair as well. I stopped using permanent hair dye as well and I use a professional demi-permanent one instead, which has made it be a bit less dry and brittle.

Not sure if this is the right thread… but does anyone else feel the pressure of a new year looming? That thought process of I’ll lose weight, look after myself more etc… it’s like I need to completely reinvent myself as this year will be the year! I thought the same last year and the years before that! It’s hard to explain the feeling/pressure - but please tell me I'm not the only one! 😬

I am definitely planning to do more in the new year but that's because I'll be back at work post mat leave and I want to stick to a routine and maintain my budget. The former is hard to do being home with my littlest, just because I'm focused on him all day.

I would also be interested to know this too, my nails are in a dreadful state
I would recommend Biotin, this had made a difference to my nails and hair had new growth. It's not that expensive from Home Bargains or Holland and Barretts. Just make sure its high dosage.

I agree. 2024 was the first year in a long time where I made absolutely no resolutions except surviving the year, and I don't miss those lists one bit. Don't stress yourself out about resolutions and having to become a new you. I'm sure the you right now is perfectly lovely. A new year may be a good motivation to make some changes, but motivation dies and inspiration fizzles. Tedious persistence is unfortunately the only reliable path to any improvement, and that can start on any random wednesday, when/if you feel like it. 🙏

Nature's "new year" comes with the spring, so humans must be the only living beings who go absolutely apeshit in the middle of the winter to get things going for no good reason.

I don't believe in New Year Resolutions and have irked the ire of colleagues about that (as if I was going to share them if I had any....). I believe setting so much stake by a more or less random date is way more likely to end up in disappointment rather then waiting for the change to come at the right time. Yep, most people are looking forward to a change in spring, it's something about the weather brightening up and why put yourself through misery for the sake of meeting a date? I bet I'd be so fed up by whatever I was trying to do by then that I'd probably skive off....

I'm not sure if I feel end of year "pressure" per se, if anything I feel more motivated than anything to turn things around - like the whole "winter arc" trend that's been going on. I'm not trying to get ripped in the gym, but I'm doing more things for myself that I feel will serve me going forward; beauty hacks, personal development, self care, clean home.

In contrast to most people, I find December to be quite a quiet month and gives me time to get my head down.

It doesn’t even make sense as a day to start anew for the most common resolutions (health/fitness/wellbeing) because it’s still holiday season for most. We have Christmas dinner again on New Year’s Day so there’s no “dieting” happening. Many people will be feeling less than their best after New Year anyway. So then it becomes, I’ll start tomorrow, or next week depending what day it all lands on. Gyms are rammed in January from everyone having a go for a few weeks so it’s a terrible time to start that.

The only time I’ve ever been able to make changes and sustain them is when I’ve made them alongside a wave of motivation to do so. It needs to become habit/enjoyable before the novelty wears off which is easier said than done if you’re not in the right frame of mind.

I agree with this spring and autumn are my natural clear out the old and in with the new times so I stick with that - an no one needs to feel more miserable in January do they 😂

I think it works for some people - especially if you need a deadline to do anything. Dry January works because people feel as if they drank and spent too much, Stoptober for smoking. I like the idea of making a positive commitment to yourself.

Does anyone know of any other “both way” razors? I’ve been using the Wilkinson Intuition Fab and gone to order some more blade heads and it’s been discontinued!
This happens with literally every single beauty or skincare item that works for me, I’m so annoyed!!

I tend to start from 12th night. Once the house is stripped and back to normal.

This sounds like a great idea! The madness is over and normality resumes! Perhaps setting small, manageable goals would be realistic too, adding something new in each week or so also, so it’s not so overwhelming 😊 Thankyou Tattlers for making me feel I’m not alone in this train of thought!

Imo people look at it wrong but that's just my view. Dieting Vs making yourself feel better, pressure to force yourself to do stuff etc. It's about setting goals that you really want to happen, making a plan for how you're gonna do it, and making it achievable. I set new years resolutions but it doesn't necessarily needs to start 1st january. Its more of what I want to achieve in the year.
People also set themselves up for disappointment with too many things at once instead of picking something they really want to do and actually committing to it.
No one has to set new years resolutions but it can be as good time as any to think about goals and think how to go about achieving them.

Wandering away from resolutions and whatnot, I just wanted to recommend the Superdrug Me+ hyaluronic lip balm (in a squeezy tube). I've spent loadsamoney over the years on various pots, tubs, tubes and bottles of lip balms, oils and creams, and I can honestly say that this is the best I've ever used. It doesn't taste of anything, it doesn't dry into blobs that you end up biting off, it doesn't tingle, sting, or drip. It's just lovely and soothing, my lips have improved over 2 days. And it costs around £3 I think? Absolute bargain!

Can someone have any recommendations for really bad eczema. It’s on my forehead and it’s red and angry. The stuff I’ve had from the doctor hasn’t helped

Hey guys, I’m getting under the skin bumps on my face and I’m not sure what the cause of it is? I’ve been trying out a new exfoliate so it might be that or it might be my cleanser as I’ve had it for a year now (I’m trying to finish it). Can anyone into skincare help me out??
