Shhhh….don’t mention the nanny. They are super involved parents and can never ever miss a school drop off, who else would do it - it’s why they can hardly do any charity work didn’t you know?!😂

Except they never denied they have a nanny. And they never said they never miss a school drop off. They have only said if they can they want to do the school drop off. Nothing wrong with that. You also don't know if the children are also there. It's the weekend.

And there are clear pictures on the internet of their outing to church today.

It must be very stuffy and rigid with tradition. I can't imagine being surrounded by staff all the time and having to be "on duty" even around them, let alone the value of the ornaments, furniture, paintings etc. I would be terrified of spilling/dropping something. I'd be demanding tea in a metal camping mug like Liz on keeping up appearances :ROFLMAO:

I would struggle with people always being around me. I would hate not having my own decor and furniture, hate having someone organise my day and hate not having my own time.
It must feel very strange if you aren't born into that

I think they probably spend way more time with her parents, don't they?

Kate decamped to her parents' house often early in the marriage and after George and Charlotte were born.

I think the weird thing would be having security and never truly being alone again? Could you ever be alone? Drive alone?

Yes they did go to her parents with the new babies but I imagine security detail were there too.
Nothing would ever be private again.

I’m sure I read that the Middletons have an annexe type set up for the security for when they visit, rather than the security camping out in their hallway. I’ve always wondered how it works for them at home. Eg at Adelaide cottage which is relatively small compared to say KP or Windsor Castle, do they have security inside the house? Or do they just sit outside? I suppose maybe as the house is in private grounds they don’t need someone sitting on a chair outside the kitchen door whilst they cook dinner

Adelaide Cottage is not very visible or accessible. You can see it if you are sailing down the Thames, so other than that I wouldn't think their security people sit round the kitchen table.

It’s not as if they are with security next to them 24/7. Good security gives you an illusion of being alone whenever possible.
I can imagine that the rather regulated interactions in certain family/public outing settings make the dealings within the RF easier. It’s not as awkward if you have a set of rules to follow. Strange rules but once you know then it’s easy to navigate. You don’t have to invent the wheel and can fall back to more impersonal motions if you are in disagreements or whatever.
I don’t doubt it’s stressful but whose life isn’t? I still would take this stress over really having to worry about employment/ health care/education/cost of living. Yes, Kate gets judged publicly- but quite honestly- its her choice if she is reading the crappy stuff that’s written about her. Either on forums or on their SM. If she is smart she just doesn’t. We all have the Co-worker/s we don’t get along with. That make a snide remark. We all duck up at work once in a while and feel crappy about it. A lot of us are still conscious about our looks to a high degree. Dealing with crazy/morally reprehensible or even criminal in laws is not uncommon.
I don’t doubt it’s hard. It is. But literally everyone and their dog knows the RF is the poster dysfunctional family. The tabloids have been writing about that since the 1990s. I think Kate had a very realistic view on what her life was going to be like and is up for it. Bonus: she can get all the therapy she wants to deal with it. I would argue that she lives exactly the life she wants and she and Wiliam have successfully implemented their own twist on things (working numbers, privacy…).

I think it’s going to be really interesting to watch the monarchy over the coming decade. Charles is still very stuffy and old fashioned. I think the Queen got away with it because she was basically walking history, Charles not so much. I know he’s the King and all that but it is wild to me in this day and age that his own sons have to go through private secretaries to speak to him let alone visit him. Fine in the olden days but ridiculous now. There’s even such a huge difference in how Camilla seems to interact with her children. I can’t see William being as formal with his kids, particularly as a millennial with more technology.
