This makes a lot of sense. She was shockingly thin even for her before she went away.

Having had a pretty horrendous cancer in the area they are saying she did, treatment didn't take that long and was back in office within 6 weeks. All a bit suss really.

Good for you. I'm sure if you have had cancer, you'll know that everyone's treatment is different and their bodies all respond differently too.
The only thing suss is you suggesting otherwise

Yup, having had cancer in that area too, I wasn't fit to be back working within six weeks - in fact I'd only just started chemo six weeks after my operation. My reaction to the chemo was bad enough to worry the oncologists as I even developed a reaction that they'd never seen before as well as developing the reaction they expected from my genetic lack of a particular enzyme to a level that required the chemo levels to be cut back. I'm still suffering from constant exhaustion two years on and the DWP agree that I'm still not fit to work. I also developed diabetes after I finished chemo. Unlike Kate, I put on weight as I was constantly nibbling to keep nausea at bay. Perhaps my experience is 'suss'? I'll happily show my cancer record book with all the dates and details, or even the gnarly scar down my belly.

No two bodies, two cancers, two treatments or two experiences are the same.

Kate refuses to ever wear the engagement ring again. As far as she is concerned it is representative of toxic traits of royal life. She wears a new ring to symbolise their new start. It was a close one. Their divorce would have been the end of the monarchy. It was incredibly high stakes. Kate had a lot of power in the negotiations. Will was told to grow up and keep it in his pants. They were afforded all the time they needed. Lying to the public with some help from media was a necessary tool to protect the monarchy. Popularity is their lifeline. Let's see how long it lasts.

I will say, re Catherine's weight, she's always been slim and her siblings are too.
I have a friend like this, she's never put on weight except in pregnancy and even in her mid 50s still is very lean and tends to drop weight when she's stressed.
I don't believe the eating disorder theories. I remember Sarah Ferguson putting on weight and headlines screaming 'Duchess of Pork.' If a woman is in the public eye her weight is fair game, unfortunately.

My point was that society still does this. We might not have the headlines like we did then but we have the internet now where everyone can voice their opinion.

We still get stupid articles stating that so and so 'showcased' her ample chest or flaunted her 'peachy posterior.' A woman in the public eye still has her appearance scrutinised is probably a better way to word it.

Yes! 'Katy Perry showing off her amazing figure..' and they literally pick the most unflattering photos and it's like you cocks.

'Adele flaunting her weight loss' and it's adele in regular clothes running errands. How the duck is that flaunting?!

The media are still awful about celebs weight. They just aren't direct about it.

If I was in the public eye I'd be super cautious of my appearance too.
And she's naturally slim so any weight loss would really show.
 
There’s a new commentary programme on itv now called The Royal Beat hosted by Kate Thornton. It is described as a show to discuss the weeks news about the royals with those in the Court Circular (today Chris Ship, Roya Nikkah and Russell Myers - royal editors for ITV, The Times and The Mirror). They’re currently discussing Harry and Meghan appearing at new events solo, and whether this is a good PR move. I can’t imagine that it isn’t Royal approved.

I always thought that he just didn’t care enough to ever even make something for her, it was just easy to get Diana’s ring. I would’ve been pretty insulted if I waited all that time giving my life up for a manchild for his title and wealth and he gives me his dead mother’s ugly engagement ring from a famously toxic marriage. Such a bad idea. She deserved her own ring just for her.

It’s funny Harry had it but gave it to William as I bet Meghan would have refused it if he’d kept it for her!

Diana’s was also very 80’s but it’s just the fact it was from such an unhappy marriage that I find so off putting and I can’t believe Kate was that happy with it as she would definitely suit something less gaudy.

Meghan would have loved it I think?! She flaunts Diana's stuff she DOES have!

Kate deserved her own pretty ring that's her, not the huge ugly sapphire. She seems to like more delicate jewelry.
