Well I had the app downloaded and the tracking set up, and then I totally forgot about it because unlike Tits and Kelly I have a life 😂. I had a lovely morning marshalling, blasting out the Christmas tunes and eating all the homebakes. The I came home and cleaned out a cupboard, because unlike Tits and Kelly I clean 😂. Then I sat down with a cup of coffee and opened Insta and what do I see, a sweaty, tiny toothed Tits 🤢

THREE years of missing every weekend with his son for his running, endless races and trips to Kenya and Chamonix instead of a single family holiday; £1000s spent on shiny trainers and kit which could have been experiences and things for Harri, and six years (since his first 2:29) prioritising his marathon training over everything else in life including friendships, family relationships and giving back to his community, all for a result which is still 24 minutes slower than the world record.... Just cannot see how that is time well spent.

He makes me laugh so much! Now what? Yep you’re a fast club runner but you’re not elite by any stretch, you’ve not qualified to compete for wales or GB over the mara. You’ve made this your full time job, for many Olympians they still hold down a job while they train, Laura Muirs completed her vet training. If you were a nurse, an office worker a bin man boshing out a 2.25 I’d be impressed. 2.25 is impressive but for a man it doesn’t qualify you for anything. For the amount of effort he puts in it feels very sad!

I really wanted him to bonk to be honest!

I already want to unfollow him and Kelly but I just can’t 😂

Did he follow a pacer then? I mean in my marathon (first) I’m tempted to stick with a pacer, just because I know I always start too fast before I then slow to where I need to be! But surely him following a packer just shows he couldn’t have done it without because he probably would have started faster, I bet he wanted to overtake them right at the end so he could be like I tan faster than the pacer

Where next then??? Targets achieved! Bravo!!

time to get a fucken job!!!!!!

It must be difficult to support 5 kids & 2 adults with no real income & that’s before the winter gas & electric bills come in. I’m finding it hard to be sympathetic though when I work full time & have to do my runs either at 5am before work or in the evenings after work or on my days off like millions of others.

Following a pacer is the smartest thing he’s done on who knows how long 😂

I’ll probably act like I’ve got a new WR when I finish my marathon 🤷🏼‍♀️ it’s irritating because it’s Tits and he’s a twat whose achievements don’t really reflect the time he has to dedicate to his training, he’s a full time runner but I know (very good) club runners with actual jobs who get similar times.

I don’t begrudge anyone (who isn’t a fucking twat…but reluctantly even him) celebrating crossing that finish like as enthusiastically as they please whether it took <3hrs or >6hrs

I hope Kels and more importantly the kids had a nice weekend without him though.

He’s unhidden all his training pre race on strava hasn’t he?
Fucking knew it. Melt.

81 miles to 67 miles last to 41 miles this week then.
I don’t begrudge anyone celebrating, of course not. A marathon (actually any event) is tough and to complete it in a time that you are proud of is worth celebrating.

However, he stated a while ago that he wanted 2.20. He didn’t achieve that. Somewhere along the line his goal changed (again, which is fine) but he never stated why or explained himself.

He decided quite obviously that he wanted to put himself out there after the London thing. I know someone who is a) better than him and b) took his place in a track ultra. He has no running sm profile even though he could rake in freebies. Matt decided to take this route, he could have gone private if he wanted. If he has a public running persona, states that he is a “sportsperson” on Instagram and is a coach then people look to him for advice and support. He hides his training, hides his injuries and doesn’t answer questions. In addition to this, if people ask him things that he doesn’t like he gets snarky and blocks them. This isn’t what a runner who wants to be elite and help others does.

So Matt, when you read here understand why we are being harsh about your celebration. It isn’t about being mean per se. It is about your behaviour leading up to it. We want to be pleased for you, but we can’t when you act like a child and not the professional you claim to be.

Your words expressed much better what I tried to do with just calling him a melt.
Thank you :)

Matt- my calling you a melt isn’t just a dismissive dig. Please don’t assume I’m making pithy comments without substance. It’s everything above and more. I just can’t be bothered to write it up because, unfortunately, I don’t think you can actually read it or understand it.

Saying thank you for support doesn’t automatically make you a decent person.

He’s sly, pretends he works hard but actually does nothing for the running community* and gives the impression he is honest when actually he is anything but. I’ve had enough of his fakery. People who truly care about others don’t lie and hide and pretend.

*he doesn’t volunteer, he doesn’t give away his free gifts to those who need them (if you can sell the stuff on, which we have seen happen you can definitely give it away), he doesn’t provide a good support network for runners because he lies and shifts and therefore they don’t know what he does to get the results and he dns/doesn’t turn up to events. He does this without explanation so people who were excited about seeing him at their event are let down.

To be fair I think he is an absolute twit but I can’t get angry at him doing this. No one is taking the piss out of overweight women in tikiboo and camel packs doing that at the end of a 7 hour marathon, I think he’s a weapon but I can’t get mad at someone being pleased with their achievement. I sobbed after London this year… I hope no one thought I was being ott…
Definitely not. You’re not a total twit like he is. Lots of people, whatever their pace or experience, will have emotional finish lines. Me too. Its just because it’s tiny teeth tits and what he represents
