We need a happy medium. Kids need to be taught about responsibility and how to fend for themselves. So many who have no idea how to even cook or shop having babies, Society has become too dependent on others helping them.

When I was a young mum (18) I could cook, clean, budget, do running household repairs, grow food mend and alter clothes. I wasn't unique it was just how things were. Yes I did look after younger children , I didnt feel put apon it was just how it was.
Did I have too much responsibility probably yes. but now we have gone a full u turn and so many today are not given any responsibilities and it shows.
So many young adults have zero life skills. One of my coworkers (mid 20s) had to ask his mum his waist size for a work uniform, because she bought all his clothes. She makes his packed lunch, drives him to work and picks him up. He’s not intellectually impaired, he’s a university trained healthcare professional. He’s also single 😂😂😂

I'm wary of people who don't like cats because they think cats are "sneaky", "disloyal", "unpredictable", and so on. There's a reason why a lot of sexist men hold that view, and why cats are associated with negative stereotypes of women, or seen as something single women that can't find men are "stuck with." It's not just that though; in my view disliking a cat (or any animal) for those reasons demonstrates contempt for a living thing that's independent and that you don't control or influence. What does that say about how this person views others in general? (I do however have every sympathy for people who are scared of cats, allergic to cats, etc.)

Blimey. How can someone not know their own clothing size?!

So many women shop for men's clothing, though. Pretty much any time I'm browsing clothes in a shop (I'm a bloke) I'm surrounded by women also browsing the men's section. I suppose they're mostly shopping for partners/husbands, but also grown up sons as well. Fellow men - buy your own clothes!

This particular man is mummy’s precious Little Prince and would have no idea what to choose, where to try it on and how to pay.

My husband buys his own stuff, but no browsing, he just picks jeans, shirt, shoes, job done.

My unpopular opinion is….
If you are applying for council housing then you should not be able to have more children and/or have a right to request a move to a bigger property.

Example!

My friends son is 18. Knocked his girlfriend up as they “wanted to start a family early”….🤔 He’s an apprentice and she was a trainee. Truth of the matter is, both of them wanted to move out, couldn’t afford to, applied to the council and were told they didn’t score enough points for council property.

Therefore got pregnant, scored more points and ta dah! Got offered a 1 bed flat. She now doesn’t work as looking after the kid. 2 years later? She’s knocked up again and they’ve now applied for a bigger property. Want a house now due to the need for more bedrooms.

If you can’t afford to live within your means and require council housing then you should not be having more kids! You see it all the time on Facebook with some chav asking for an housing exchange as she’s expanding her role as “full time mummy” and needs a bigger council property.

To be honest, just sick of people having kids that they cannot afford in general to be honest.

Meanwhile my bf and I can’t afford to move out, work all hours and still live at home. Whose the mug here?!

I agree with this, by providing everything she's actually stunted his growth.

I prefer to buy basic mens T-shirts for myself. I don't like the women's cut and focus on the boobs.

UO: I wouldn't save for a child in their name and legally hand them large sums of money at 18. They haven't learnt of the discipline of saving for themselves.

Do people still get council houses because they’re having/have children? I thought that stopped a while ago.

Yes I think you do still get priority if you have young kids . What changed was the two child limit for child tax credits for kids post 2017.

Capital punishment has gone the way of the dodo, which is where it should be in my opinion. What if people get wrongfully convicted? Are you gonna revive their corpse?

But that notwithstanding, I think making criminals spend a very long time in prison is a better punishment than killing them - which is technically an early release from their sentence.

It also doesn't make logical sense. "Let's show society that killing is wrong by killing someone". 🤪
In this day and age of DNA the wrong person is never convicted. I'm not saying low level criminals should be sentenced to the DP but serial rapists, murderers, child molesters should be. Why should the tax payer keep these scum warm, fed and watered for 40 years, quick injection then chuck them in a skip, job done.

That advert for On The Beach holidays, the one with Christmas music, features a fat white family with fat kids, no gingers, no mixed heritage and no gay unless the fat kids turn out to be. Fat mum, fat dad, fat kids. I’m not booking an OTB holiday in case I end up in the same resort as them.
That kid will never get that rubber ring off his belly and I wouldn't want to sit next to any of them on a plane! I think the same when I see that ad - it just promotes being fat and nobody caring, feeding kids chocolate and fizzy pop shouldn't be celebrated.

"Blue Monday" isn't a great record. It's boring and dreary.
The Beatles were right place, right time too, nothing special about them.

They’re advertising to their target market…thick, fat English people who make an arse of themselves on foreign holidays.

Millennials and Gen Zs who think calling grown ass women "Karens" actually have Mommy Issues

Listen, I am really sorry your mother didn't buy you the newest iPhone or perhaps she didn't allow you to drive her Volvo but that doesn't mean you should disqualify all other women - who are attempting to navigate their world - in a patriarchal society. For individuals who pride themselves on being WOKE you certainly have no qualms about diminishing the value of women who attempted to make the world a better place for you. Did we succeed? No, but we endured sexual harassment, discrimination and abuse at the hands of the opposite gender. For what? So we can now be subjugated by individuals we strove to protect and want a better life for? I don't see you calling out older men who, in their heyday, did the diabolical deeds previously mentioned "Franks"? Why is that?? Perhaps because they still control what is deemed appropriate or not. My only hope is that when the hands of time pass, and you notice your value diminishing, your children or children's children have progressed enough to have respect for you and don't feel the need to degrade you into a category of "Tiffany".

Because we're no better than them if we kill them. And I don't buy that people are never wrongfully convicted anymore. Yes, it's rare, but it can still happen - not all juries make the 'right' decision.

I don't want to live in a country where state sanctioned murder is the norm. I mean, I get it's a hypothetical discussion, as capital punishment will almost certainly never return in the UK, but even so.

That's either deep or my thinking is very limited 😬 :ROFLMAO:
I've never actually thought of that. I suppose it's the more empathetic men that would own a cat so........
Certainly adds a whole new dimension when seeking a relationship 🤔

I'm not a massive fan of the term myself, but it's only really applied to women who are over entitled and complain for no reason, not those who have a genuine grievance. For example, someone who wants to return an item to a shop for a refund but doesn't have a receipt and has probably worn it - then goes on a massive rant at the employee. It's been many years since I worked in retail, but I can still remember dealing with idiots like that.

The vast majority of people - men or women - don't act like that.

It really doesn't hold much weight nowadays, due to the housing shortage and the massive waiting lists. Having a young child doesn't bump you up the list like it used to.

That OP was a wild opinion. Essentially, council tenants must be poor & therefore shouldn't breed. Lets just ignore the many council & HA tenants who are working full time and were housed for other vulnerability or safeguarding concerns, eh.

I’m on a course where quite a lot of students still live at home and you can tell they’re just living like school children. I was talking to someone who told me that they’re dreading moving out and getting a job because they won’t have their parents to get them up in the morning and they can’t cook. I asked why don’t they start doing more at home and they just said because they’re mum does it all for them. Unless they’re planning to live at home forever, they’re going to get a massive shock when they move out!
As an eldest child I feel like I was given a lot more responsibility than my sisters have. I’m glad I was now because I’ve seen how people who’s parents spoon fed them their whole lives have turned out, and can see at least one of my sisters turning out that way.

If any of my kids has left home unable to cook and unable to use a washing machine, set an alarm, shower daily or any other pretty simple life skills, I’d feel a failure as a parent.

Unless there is a term of equal degradation applied to "over entitled" men it's a form of sexism. Sexism - as in any form of prejudice - is used to manipulate, demean and control. If we make excuses - for any form of prejudice - we have failed as a society 🤷‍♀️

Didn't Kevin use to be used in a derogatory way for men? I remember it because its my exes name and made me snigger

I’ve not heard it used in that way for ages. It started out being used in this way yes, but in some spaces (here, Twitter) it seems to have become synonymous with ‘you have an opinion I don’t like’. I find it really sexist because it’s saying that women can’t be ‘entitled’ or loud mouthed in the way men can be. Get back in your place, Karen, type thing.
