Totally agree with you. Want to be self sufficient? Good. Knock yourself out. If some big businesses want to buy what you're selling, even better. But that goes both ways. People can't criticise them for being self funding if they are indeed self funding or are investing inheritances. I also agree it was a bad look to whine on Oprah about not having security paid. Self sufficient means self sufficient. Also the titles. I had far more respect for them when I thought they had turned down titles for Archie than I did when they moaned about it. It made them look silly.
If you aren't interested in them, don't comment on them or talk about them. The only reason they are in the papers all the time is because the British press are obsessed with trawling their Instagram to write stories about them, and they do that because they know they drive traffic onto the site.

Six stories in the sidebar of shame … and that‘s fewer than yesterday.

Wearing clothes that expensive to a school where kids don’t have food at home? So unbelievably tone deaf and out of touch with reality.

right? it is almost as if she is doing it on purpose. not just the children, but I doubt the teachers earn a huge amount either.
and at Wimbledon she sat there in jeans with her straw hat. so bizarre.

Eugghhhhhhh Jesus Christ don't

ha, had this suspicion since when she a roll neck for the first time 🙈😂

But that’s the thing isn’t it?
There‘s this perception that when people go the visit, they actually want people to dress up and look ‘posh’. They don’t want ‘people like us’. Kate once wore Ralph Lauren to a homeless shelter - did that make the headlines?

Did they donate?

I can't tell if she went there as an author or something else but they did donate something.

Ralph Lauren is not as expensive as an outfit for almost 7K dollars.

Plus: they went to a school! Do you really think these kids and their teachers dream of meeting "posh people"?

And I am sure that they would have preferred a different book, as surely many of these kids don't have a picture perfect family that spends a lot of time sitting on a sunny bench.

That is true. Kate also flies in on a helicopter. Celebs and royals are out of touch in my opinion.

Isn‘t the perception that everyone dreams of meeting posh people?
to be fair, if you are homeless there aren‘t degrees of less expensive designer wear.

I never heard of the perception that everybody wants to meet posh people.
Famous people, maybe. But posh people?

I don't know, but MM wore this red costume that didn't look good and that she won't wear again. She looked like she spent a fortune, she stood out (whether in a good way or not is down to everybody to decide for themselves).

KM wore an olive green simple dress, there was no obvious Ralph Lauren logo on the outside. Could have been from H and M and easy to rewear, as it is so simple. She looked much more toned down and she fitted into the crowd much more:

Not a KM fan, but she generally manages to dress in a more appropriate way

I wonder why they always pick so unflattering pictures of MM - are there no better ones?
She looks like she just got out of bed in this red oversized pyjama and her bed hair 🙈

The pyjama coat alone cost $5840! My brain can't even comprehend it, I thought it was a typo and they'd missed a decimal point after the 58. 😬

That's the thing, it is not even an investment piece as she looks like a clown and whenever she will put it on again everybody remembered that she wore it to the school.

Bad choice.

And Harry? Dressed down as always. They look like such a funny pair, she is the ill dressed power woman and he the posh aging toy boy 🙈

I like this one of Kate's, it beats those dress coats she insists on wearing that ages her by 20 years.
I like the colour of Megan's one but that's it. It looks a bit too much like 'I'm a boss woman' gone wrong - a tailored fit would've worked better if she wanted to go for a more professional look.

Kate went to a school in Enfield wearing a dress that cost over £2000. So out of touch with reality!!1!1

With or without the royal family it won't change my life. I'm just envious I'm not one of them. I wouldn't mind living that kind of life, well, at least live it for a year and see what it's really like. Maybe it's shite.
It probably is shite. I'd still try on all the crown jewels and jump on all the beds and have a sit on the throne.
(Is there an actual throne in BP or is it just the one she got to sit in at her crowning thing?

Apparently Prince Andrew invited Ghislaine Maxwell and that other paragon of virtue Kevin Spacey to horse around on the Thrones at buck House and take pictures on it, so they are definitely there!

What’s the point of this? It’s like they still want to do the royal tour thing, but it seems weird. If they’re not working royals they’re effectively just celebrities and you wouldn’t get a celebrity doing a visit to a school hugging random children

Just because they aren't 'working royals' doesn't mean people round the world don't still see them as royalty.
