No thanks. Saying positive things about H&M doesn't mean I want to rave about them all the time. If anyone wants to change the subject though I would be happy to discuss something else.

Here you go for those who are interested. 😁

So was I. How ridiculous that you have to curtsey in order in private! Its clearly The Queen who expects her children and grandchildren to curtsey to her. And the order is setting up inferiority complexes immediately from birth.

I wouldn't curtsy to anyone. Ever. I remember being a bit 😲 seeing a photo of Sophie curtsying to the Queen.

It'll be a cold day in hell before I every curtsy to my MIL!

I don't post often on this thread but I have been reading all the posts as I do find our RF fascinating, particularly those from yesteryear. I was in Waterstones a few weeks ago and found this book which I'm finding really interesting, covering how our various kingdoms and counties were formed up to present day. It's not exhaustive by any means but I'm hoping it fills some gaps in my knowledge and piques some interest for me to explore more interesting times for our RF!

I see that I am in the minority here but I like the fact that lot of the projects and causes M&H take up actually have visible results. Like them partnering and funding the kitchens for World Central Kitchen (3 out of the 4 kitchens have been built and are currently feeding in need people). Raising money and smashing their target for VaxLive as campaign chairs. Giving money to various organizations- like that women's shelter that needed a new roof.

Sometimes I feel like some of the BRF are pretending to care about charities and that they are just in it for the photo op. I think I read that having a royal patron doesn't do much in terms of improving donations to your charity. If having a royal at your charity doesn't increase funding then what is the point.

hahaha calm down I am not on their podcasting team!
Have you asked them what happened to the money for the elephants? They are despicable. Charities in the US are very complex but Archwell allows them to only pass across 5% of donations with the rest being side-lined under expenses...

This might answer your question about the elephants:

As for Spotfiy, they said this in their recent financial report.

"We also announced a new multiyear partnership with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Archewell Audio. We were pleased with the performance of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s holiday special episode that was released on our platform in December 2020 and look forward to a full scale launch of shows coming in 2021."

Now lets move on please.

Yeah I had no idea they showed such deference (curtsying) in private too. So weird.

It's sounds kind of cultish to me. I could never be in a family like that.

Thanks for the link! Going to add this to my Amazon wish list! I’m not a royalist at all but I do find the history fascinating! I think the BRF are on par with the Romanov’s for piquing my interests. I also want to read up on the Japanese monarchy a bit more and the French royals. I also like the Monegasque Royals but I think that’s mainly because of Grace Kelly 😍

But the article doesn't clear anything up at all. When talking about the elephants it says nothing about the 3 million Disney salary that was meant to be donated to the Elephant charity?

It just thanks Meghan for doing the voice over and raising awareness, and doesnt mention anything about thank you for a personal £3 million pound donation!

If Meghan was given a salary for the voice over, then the money wouldn't come directly from Disney? It would be ear marked as coming from Ms Markle surely?

What else have the Royal family been up to today?

Have any of them been to the Chelsea show? I love looking at those incredible gardens.

It explains perfectly. The deal was that Disney give a check directly to the charity a check in lieu of payment to Meghan.

The 3 million figure was plucked out of nowhere by the tabloids. We don't know exactly how much was negotiated but we know it was a significant amount because the charity listed Disney as one of their biggest donors that year: https://elephantswithoutborders.org/about-us/funding/

Have any of them been to the Chelsea show? I love looking at those incredible gardens.

I saw some pics of Judi Dench opening the show. I think only Sophie, Edward and Anne have been.

What does this mean?

there are also meghan stans that are just as obsessive about meghan and harry and leave negativity on anything the royal family post. i know because i'm acquaintances with one and all the batshit stuff she retweets comes on to my timeline. it's constant over the top positivity about the tiniest of things harry and meghan do and extreme negativity about the royal family. the extremity of the stans and the antis is insane. harry and meghan aren't the devil but they aren't angels either. i don't support them because it annoys me that harry's racism is continually brushed under the carpet by meghan which indicates to me that she doesn't care about racism or racist people unless it affects her. sort your own husband out first and then work on the monarchy! however, i also don't understand the obsessive nature of their stans and antis.

The Meghan stans are strange because they say they hate lies but then lie about the RF a lot. I saw a quite a few lying about the success of The Hold Still book to make Meghan’s book look more successful, but Kate’s had actually reached number 1 best seller in The Sunday Times.

I find the comment section of Omid’s tweets to be the most toxic of places, contrary to what a lot of them spout.

I honestly have a hard time seeing them as a family in general tbh. It feels more like a bunch of celeb-like people who popped up from somewhere and are considered a 'family' 😬

I think that's probably the one thing RF really misses out with the younger generations. Actually connecting with them through social media and forming a 'relationship'. Obviously, I understand they're not really celebrities and there is boundaries to be drawn but it just feels outdated in a way
