Eh? Mike Parker is dead so l certainly hope they haven't dragged him out 😬

I know P2 was a bit of dick, but she was breathtaking in her 20s and 30s. 19 years this week. Not great for TQ.

Oh 😄 there was a quote from him in The Times- maybe it was from when he was alive and they rehashed it for some reason. Of course hes dead silly me! Phil was pushing 100 😄

Joanna Lumley was another of his conquests as well, I doubt if she is on the guest list though.😂
I thought she was one of Chucks?

Phil actually a few years ago skipped the Christening of one of the Camb kids, but went just a few weeks later to the Christening of Penny's grandson.
He "couldn't go" to the Cambs's Christening because it was too taxing a journey, but went out of his way even further away (and by helicopter I think) to Penny's. I think he was even one of the godfathers.

Set the gossip really going, those who liked to say the Cambs used surrogates loved it (for them it was "confirmation") and those who thought Penny was a mistress it was also a "confirmation".

I can imagine that he had affairs, but can't imagine he had them once he was, I don't know, over 80. I mean at some point things just don't work so well, right? 🙈

Margaret was one beautiful a*sehole.
It was 19 years for both Marg (Feb) and Liz qm (March).
You’d be surprised what works and how well. Working as on call nurse in a residential retirement setting was the time I walked in on more bed hopping that any other job I’ve worked. Including a young adult setting

I can’t understand how Andrew turned out so differently from his siblings? Surely it’s not just because he’s (allegedly) the Queen’s favourite? It’s like no ones ever told him no in his life. Maybe they haven’t? Who knows? He’s in for a seriously rude awakening one day because apparently Charles only tolerates him.
I think you can never say how people turn out. No two children are raised the same even by the same parents.
I love the way that the Daily Heil says that Philip's mother was German and that's why he's close to that side! Um, they're his sisters' children and grandchildren...

His mother may have had a German title but she was born at Windsor Castle in the same room as her mother had been born, was brought up as the daughter of the First Sea Lord who got given a British title in replacement for his German one in WW1 just like other members of the BRF, her sister had to be confirmed as a member of the BRF before she could marry the Crown Prince of Sweden, and she was as German as her brother Earl Mountbatten who became Viceroy of India and First Sea Lord! Gods, the DM journalists are bloody useless.
they do maintain relationships to their German relatives though. They are not very important or public (seeing Germany officially has not royals anymore) but they are attending quite some weddings and christenings. I think it’s more the Hannover side but when I learned something than that those houses take family ties still strangely serious. They are his blood relatives after all (as is the BRF I know). I would have thought to see at least on member of the Danish and Greeks as well. Especially as they are still in higher ranks or rather are still officially royals for that matter. He chose the Germans though and spoke excellent German so I guess they definitely was the yearly Christmas card and such.

Emotions are weird though aren’t they. I cried every day after my dad died but not a thing at his funeral which really surprised me. But I cried when I sold my first car.
I’m exactly the same. When my mum died, being the oldest, I didn’t cry at all during the funeral and wake. I never really cry in front of people but behind closed doors I cry buckets of tears. I just think being The Queen and who she is, she would hold it together in public.

Surely it would've been a subtle swipe if they chose a picture taken after Archie was born rather than before. The picture of the great grandchildren is a PR stunt without a doubt but I'm guessing they used this picture as its unreleased and has the majority of the kids in it.

I'm sure Harry and/or Meghan will release any pictures of Archie with his great grandparents in their own time (if they have any)
I actually think there are no photos of Archie with the other great grandchildren. Archie didn’t go to Balmoral during Christmas and summer holidays so where would he have been with the other great grandchildren. Can’t think of anywhere they were all together at the same place, can you?

Meghan only brought him to this polo match when he was a baby, Kate was there with her kids, too. I don't think the other cousins were there

I’ve read that the original guest list was 800 and because of the pandemic they are only allowed 30 and the people who live abroad have had to isolate. So maybe those are reasons why the Danish and Greek sides were invited. I do think there will be a proper memorial when things allow and we will see the Greek and Danish relatives then.

They don't make it public everytime they all meet up. I'd like to think that there are photos with archie and his cousins but they're private.
Of course! It would be great if the cousins all spent time together.

But if I recall correctly Harry and Meghan opted out of the family Balmoral holiday a few months after Archie was born, which has for years been the main family reunion spot out of the public eye.

The other times are the big extended pre-Christmas celebration) at Buckingham Palace and then Sandringham for Christmas itself. I can’t remember if they have attended either of those since Archie? The years are blending together thanks to Covid!

It’s pretty normal for big extended families to only get together once or twice a year (if that!). If they missed those chances before they went to California - maybe there isn’t a pic of Archie with all his Windsor cousins yet?

There must be something in the Penny rumours. Has to be, not buying the platonic confidant at all. Beatrice and Eugenie could have attended without their relatively new spouses and supported each other. I've heard the Edward rumours for ever, I think he was a bit of a dick when he was younger but has maybe wised up, perhaps Sophie grounded him.

@BigMavis Why should Bea and Eugenie attend alone when all the other grandchildren bring their spouse? Apart from the whole heir to the throne the grandchildren are the same and should be treated the same. As if Peter and Zara couldn’t support each other? I get making cuts, but you should make sure not to show favouritism in that way. For example Jack has been around much more longer than Meghan but that’s no reason to cut her out and leave him in.
I think if there would have been cuts necessary, they might have left out all grandchildren in-laws apart from Kate (because Queen to be) and filled the seats with other close confidants.
