They've announced the guest list.

Guest List

Children and spouses, grandchildren and spouses, three German relations (presumably representing the families of his three sisters as nephews or grand-nephews, Cecilie's children having died), Lord Snowden, Lady Sarah and Daniel Chatto, Dukes of Kent and Gloucester (no Duchesses or Prince Michael despite both siblings attending), Princess Alexandra, Countess Mountbatten but no Lady Pamela.

ETA: The German relations are two great-nephews, grandsons of Princesses Theodora and Margarita, and the Head of the House of Hesse, into which both Princesses Sophie and Cecilie married.

Wow that is interesting considering the rumours! It seems to almost expected in the aristocracy that you have a wife and a mistress, especially among the Royals. Fidelity is for the commoners. That's why I wouldnt be at all surprised if Will had a mistress.

I love the way that the Daily Heil says that Philip's mother was German and that's why he's close to that side! Um, they're his sisters' children and grandchildren...

His mother may have had a German title but she was born at Windsor Castle in the same room as her mother had been born, was brought up as the daughter of the First Sea Lord who got given a British title in replacement for his German one in WW1 just like other members of the BRF, her sister had to be confirmed as a member of the BRF before she could marry the Crown Prince of Sweden, and she was as German as her brother Earl Mountbatten who became Viceroy of India and First Sea Lord! Gods, the DM journalists are bloody useless.

Maybe after a few years of marriage, The Queen just thought, 'Well, I married him knowing what he was like, so Ill just keep him happy and not make a fuss about the other women'. I think she knew at the end of the day, he would have his other women but she was his number one and that was enough. I' not sure if that's sad, or what was expected so she wasn't too upset over it. Interesting Mike Parker has been dragged out for a tribute. Apparently he was Phils shagging wing man on the long Royal tour he did. He had to come home in disgrace when his wife divorced him.
 
I wonder if PP had an affair with Penny. Or maybe he was just capable of having close friendships..

I personally think he had flings and affairs. he got married so young, into such a special situation and had opportunities.

I don't blame him and it seems the Queen didn't hold it against him either.

But I am just speculating, it might have been completely platonic

Meanwhile Penny was also credited with persuading him to give up his driving licence after his 2019 accident.

The Queen was said to be 'relaxed' about the constant topic of Philip and Penny. As a figure close to the royals previously said: 'She shrugs her shoulders and says: 'Philip likes to have her around.''

As for Philip, he 'didn't believe he had anything to feel guilty about as he didn't give a damn what the world thinks'.

Eh? Mike Parker is dead so l certainly hope they haven't dragged him out 😬

I know P2 was a bit of dick, but she was breathtaking in her 20s and 30s. 19 years this week. Not great for TQ.

Yes Margaret was rather beautiful and I quite like her style. She died in February so not 19 years this week? Unless I’ve confused myself!

Phil actually a few years ago skipped the Christening of one of the Camb kids, but went just a few weeks later to the Christening of Penny's grandson.
He "couldn't go" to the Cambs's Christening because it was too taxing a journey, but went out of his way even further away (and by helicopter I think) to Penny's. I think he was even one of the godfathers.

Set the gossip really going, those who liked to say the Cambs used surrogates loved it (for them it was "confirmation") and those who thought Penny was a mistress it was also a "confirmation".

I can imagine that he had affairs, but can't imagine he had them once he was, I don't know, over 80. I mean at some point things just don't work so well, right? 🙈

Margaret was one beautiful a*sehole.
It was 19 years for both Marg (Feb) and Liz qm (March).
