It’s due to Harry and Andrew both that the others can’t wear it

The press have made it clear it was Andrew who kicking off and demanding to dress as an Admiral, despite having never been one. It’s pandering to him IMO. He’s using this to try and worm his way back into public life. How bleeping dare he. He needs get onto the FBI and tell them what he knows (a lot allegedly).

I’ve also seen Harry wanted to as well. I know Andrew was and i Glad he didn’t get his way.

Harry also wanted the same and because of the
Two whiny spares the rest have to suffer.

Charles won’t let that tosspot get back into the limelight, he will have nothing once Charles ascends.

They do realise it isn't a fancy dress party dont they!? What on earth is wrong with them!!! Demanding to go as an admiral?! Demanding to wear a military uniform even though you no longer represent the military. Its absolutely embarrassing for our poor Queen. Spoilt twats!!

Pathetic isn’t it? But deaths and Funerals always bring out the worst in people in my experience. I’ve seen it in my own family, ridiculous arguments over what hymns to sing etc. When my Grandad died one of my Auntie’s made a huge fuss and insisted we sang the hymn of the regiment that he served with in WW2. It was a tuneless dirge that no had ever heard or knew the words to. Everyone just mumbled a long with it. Bloody awful.

I agree with the first part but I think Charles does appear to indulge his younger son - guilt over Diana perhaps?

There's nothing about Harry being demanding anywhere? I think he just wants to get this over with as quietly as possible. He really lives rent-free in some peoples heads...

The Royal family's "best friend" Piers wrote an article on Andrew for the Daily Fail this week and him not talking to the FBI - where was that when it all kicked off??

Maybe we could all chip in and buy him a nice fancy dress one, complete with a telescope and a wooden leg? If you act like a child...

I wonder if this has come from the new Lord Chamberlain.

And again, the idiot doesn’t realise he should have shut up. I am not even sure if the story is real, or if Andrew is used for some headlines, now that he turned up again. Fact is: He will never accepted back by the public. He is tarnished beyond reproach. (Is that how you say it?)
All he would be is cheap fodder for tabloid articles (with him as the villain). But this prick is too much up his own arse to accept the reality.
Hopefully, Charles will firmly force him into privacy. Maybe as welcoming side effect by reducing the number of working royals and the royal household. The old ones dying and not increasing the work load on others as well as not adding new members could do the trick. “Sorry Andy, we restructured. There us just nothing to do for you. Why don’t you pick up a hobby? Beekeeping is very poplular nowadays. We call you if something comes up. Toodles”
Harry already has gone down the road. We just see the last flames. He will have some more occasions to whine about his mean family but it will be mostly restricted for balcony or big occasion appearances (funerals, weddings, christenings and coronation - if anything goes to plan 3 at least). He is out of the professional scheme and it seems he has realised it (and now needs some kicking and screaming to get over it). Let’s hope Andrew sees the writing on the wall soon and we will never be bothered by his face again.

I have no idea why any of them would want to wear a uniform to what is essentailly a family funeral for them even with all the pomp and ceremony that will come with it. They should look like a family in mourning like they are.

Ironically H & odious A are the ones with the longest actual active service in the forces so more qualified than the rest to wear uniform. For the rest is is more a fancy dress element due to ceremonial appointments.

Though I'd argue the only place A is now qualified for is an interview with the FBI!....

Tbh that article feels like they're making Harry out to be the main reason why everyone will be in black suits, when it's both him and Andrew - out of the two, I can't see Harry doing much more than asking if he'd be able to wear his old uniform once more, whereas I can imagine Andrew being all "DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM??" I can't believe I'm saying this but I look forward to Charles taking over purely to knock Andrew down several pegs (and hopefully into the FBI interview room).

I can’t understand how Andrew turned out so differently from his siblings? Surely it’s not just because he’s (allegedly) the Queen’s favourite? It’s like no ones ever told him no in his life. Maybe they haven’t? Who knows? He’s in for a seriously rude awakening one day because apparently Charles only tolerates him.

To be honest l find the military uniforms a bit galling. William wore his and a load of medals to D Day 75 in Normandy and l felt so embarrassed that he did that when there were people there that actually earned their medals.

It's not the 14th century anymore and they aren't Richard the Lion Heart, leading the troops into battle. They would be in the back 'protected '.

I dont think anyone has actually told him no. Especially not The Queen or any of his courtiers/servants etc. I cant believe Phil didnt tell him to not be a dick (unless the rumours are true and he knew he wasn't his). I think part of the problem is that Charles was the heir so had a role, and had a difficult relationship with his parents, Anne was miles away from The Throne and had the strength of character and sense to make the best of her role, but Andrew had nothing but his own sense of entitlement. I think Edward was a bit of a spoilt dick when he was younger too, but married Sophie, who seems a decent sort and has kept him grounded, unlike Fergie who was as bad as Andrew! That's my theory anyway!

Yeah its ridiculous. I don't think William was even in the military for that long was he? I think he did lots of training in different areas then did the air ambulance part time where he was flying with other people. Hardly deserving of a chestful of medals! It is indeed ironic that Harry and Andrew are the only current Royals who have seen active service.

It's certainly an interesting coincidence. But I don't think them being notably out-of-step with the rest of the family is to do with any sort of "you don't know what it's like, man, you weren't there" accompanied by a harrowed 1000-yard-stare. Much more of a "but I'm important too Mummy / Gan-Gan! Look at me! LOOK AT ME! I can be clever too" Fredo-esque machinations.

Actually, just a thought to Godfather 2. Fredo gets whacked in the lake the moment Mother dies. Guess both A and H better pray for even more unusual long life from HMTQ (obvs not expecting them to actually be killed, but shoved out of the picture with a Siberian cold shoulder).

Edit : I'm a simpleton, I just realised what you were getting at.
