I think imelda looks and sounds great as the Queen

Dominic is a great actor and sounds like Charles so I'm optimistic.

Not sold on Elizabeth as Diana.

Hadn't realised Timothy Dalton was in it

Timothy Dalton is Peter Townsend so I doubt he's in it a lot which is a shame.

I'm liking Imelda Staunton and Jonathan Pryce. Not sure about Dominic West. I'll have to wait and see more than the trailer.

Ive seen a clip of Dominic West as Charles ( albeit a tiny one() and he looks like he isnt even trying! No Charles mannerisms or accent at all! I should reserve judgement until Ive managed to watch a whole episode though.

Imelda Staunton is great as the Queen in S5. Jonathan Pryce is a good actor but I’m not seeing Philip either. Same with the Queen Mother’s actress.

I’m on Ep 4 currently.

I had a massive binge so on ep 5 now.. I feel like they're doing Diana pretty dirty- unless she really was like this in real life? She comes across very unlikeable, leaning on William too much and a bit thick?

Interesting, I feel like they are making her the victim and continuing the Saint Diana narrative. I don't feel they have gone as heavy on how she could be manipulative, her troubled upbringing and its impact and how society as a whole didn't understand all her problems (not just the RF) as esting disorders and mental health really didnt have awareness then, plus all her affairs.

Interesting isn't it! Particularly the scenes relating to Pakistan/Pakistani people I found myself cringing so so much.

I've just finished episode 5 and I'm enjoying it so far, more so than the last series I think. Casting is generally good, although it feels like Dominic West is just playing himself, and I can't get over Jonny Lee Miller as John Major, I know actors are generally better looking than the people they are playing, but that one is a reach 😆

I was pleased to see The Princes Trust got a light shone on it. I'm not what I'd call a charle s fan, but he has done some great things and deserves recognition and not just be treated as a villain

Yes, I thought that was interesting about episode 5, they could have just painted Charles as a villain with the phone conversation with Camilla, but they balanced it with the good work he has done with the Prince's Trust.
