The Crown - Netflix

I think her voice and mannerisms are accurate but she does seem a bit wet, which I guess could be the writing and there is also an element of accuracy

I agree it's not particularly shocking, and I was glad to see a focus on William and what he went through. After all recently you'd think she only had one son who suffered, where as if anything william had it worse

The beginning of Episode 6 should come with a warning! Absolutely horrific viewing 😳

Lol I can't remember what this is or even anything being that horrific...Will have to have a look back now

Edit - ah ok.. yeah it was sad but maybe because I knew the history I was expecting it...or I'm just desensitised to these things now

I watched the rest of the series last night, and I thought the quality dipped a bit after episode 6. I'm guessing the history lesson on the Gunpowder Plot was for the international viewers, but it felt clunky trying to draw parallels with the Panorama interview. The last episode didn't make me think 'I can't wait for the next series' either.
That being said, I did watch it all without scrolling on my tablet at the same time, and I don't do that with TV very often these days.

They were never gonna beat the last season, it was perfect! Hard one to follow.

I’m just watching episode 1 of season 5 and apart from Diana, I don’t like any of the casting 🙈 I preferred the cast from the last season. I hope it grows on me.
I've finished episode 3 and I feel the same. Diana is spot on. Dominic West is... Dominic West. Just unbelievable as Charles. Imelda Staunton is a slight improvement on Olivia Coleman. Jonathan Pryce doesn't quite deliver.

I am on ep 4. I adored Claire Foy as the queen - it is iconic tv.

Its a major misstep with Philips casting. Randy Andy was a parody of the real life Andy. Margaret casting is great. Queen mother is completely off. LOLed at the description of the mad aunts in KP

I liked the backround on the Fayeds. As an Irish person who is not into monarchy or class systems and glad to live in a republic this is my guilty pleasure.

Anyone watching the Royal Mob. I'm enjoying way more.
