It’s gonna feel different watching the new series knowing that The Queen isn’t here
The media’s saying production is halted indefinitely. I’m inclined to rewatch it now but from memory it does drag in parts.
I loved the first two series as I thought the cast was excellent and I loved the historical aspect. Is this worth watching as currently since the queen died I've been reading and watching a lot of stuff about them and I'm tempted to watch it

I started rewatching it after her death was announced, it’s really strange watching it now have to sayIt’s gonna feel different watching the new series knowing that The Queen isn’t here
Claire Foy and Matt Smith were amazing in the first 2 series, I still enjoy Olivia Colman and Tobias but yes I agree with you in that Olivia’s queen is a lot more stern. It will be interesting to see Imelda Stauton’s portrayal.Loved the first two series with Claire Foye. Not so much the episodes with Olivia Coleman. She was incredibly stern in her portrayal. There’s an excellent documentary brought out in 1992 called Elizabeth R which shows how smiley and personable the Queen was, which isn’t at all like OC’s Queen.
I did exactly this too. Olivia Coleman started to play the Queen and I was just a bit bored so didn't continue watching. I think I will start it up again though. I actually had a wee thing for the guy played Prince Philip in the first two seasons, I was gutted he wasn't in it from season 3I starter watching but stopped when the actors changed. I really need to watch from the beginning again.
I always felt she was very frosty when I was a child. I've only warmed to her as I got older. When you look at the queen in the 70s/80s she did have a bit of a colder 'we are not amused' reputation. The warmth of the queen really only came out publicly in the last 20 years or so. So in a way Olivias portrayal is accurate for the period she is covering
I think anybody who is going to watch the crown with Olivia Coleman in the role expecting to see a sweet older lady with her horses and corgis cracking a few jokes it's going to be sorely disappointedLoved the first two series with Claire Foye. This is why it was interesting to watch the documentary of her in 1992. It was her 40th anniversary, she was quite personable in it I felt. When you look at the queen in the 70s/80s she did have a bit of a colder 'we are not amused' reputation.
