The Archers

I was sure from the sound effects the dog had gone for his throat - it was his side and leg.
I listened to it on Sounds in bed before going to sleep. Not soothing.
Yes, I feel like they could have left it at a vicious sounding growl and a bark and then cut it off there. In the depths of my post-partum anxiety I was incredibly concerned about dog attacks (baby is 11 months old now so he was born around the time the XL bully attacks really got media coverage) and I'm very glad this episode didn't happen then!

It felt weird the next day with Chelsea and Tracey (?) sharing a scene with Lillians dog. Very odd. Almost like a "not all dogs!" moment.

I guess the dog attack is fitting in with the current XL chat. it was awful! I felt like they were trying to make out they were travellers but after what Jolene said yesterday I think it’s more bikie type gang. Don’t get why she doesn’t just sob then in though. If it’s them, she could just say she caught sight of someone who was there a few days before. Doesn’t really make sense.

Mia has turned hasn’t she! Always been a bit of a PITA but she has become such a little cow.

Wasn't it those men chatting to Tracey asking about the electrics being out.
But why would they want to camp at the The Bull?
How big is the bull- it's right in the village.
I need a map of Ambridge and its property! (Ideally one of those water painted with cute cottages!)

I reckon they wanted to make it a gang of travellers but then someone said hang on, we'll get criticism for racial discrimination/profiling etc. from the travelling community so let's not.

The storyline makes absolutely no sense at all. They're coming for her because years ago at a gig things got a bit lairy and they got into a fight? WTF?

Or is it they coincidentally happened to be there (for whatever reason, dog fighting?) and just happened to recognise Jolene?

And I wonder if they're sowing early seeds of Brad being in a controlling relationship with Mia . Mia being the controlling one. She seems extremely manipulative of him. I know they've made up now.

It’s such an unrealistic storyline, I’m really struggling to get onboard with it. Same with Hilda the demon cat that no one would take on and I can’t believe that even someone as hideous as Peggy would force her on someone else!
Thing that's annoying me with the Hilda storyline - as a cat lover - is that Hilda sounds like a completely normal, if a slightly grumpy and particular, regular cat! Cats often take a liking to one person over another. They are basically tiny furry toddlers who will do anything to get a treat and have absolutely no boundaries or rules. As for having an entire bloody episode about trying to find her when she'd gone missing only to find her curled up under the table, that is a normal cat thing to do. They love to please themselves and have no time for human indignation.

It's all very pro-dog isn't it :D

I agree with pro dog bias except for poor old Stella’s dog’s fate. Not v pro dog.

Ooooohhhhhh I’m invested against. Great storyline with Harry! I genuinely had no idea that he might have a problem with alcohol. Such a surprise in that episode and I thought it was great!

I can see some great storylines coming up for Harrison and fallon.

Here’s my prediction…. May be a touch melodramatic for Ambridge but anyway.

Harrison will try to warn Alice about Harry and make an enemy of Harry in the process. Harry and Alice will stay together ‘it was just a one off, I had a bit too much to drink’ etc.

Meanwhile the investigation into the Wolverhampton crew gets deeper and more dodgy.

Fallon accidentally falls pregnant. She doesn’t want to keep it but cannot bear to have an abortion. They agree to keep the baby but harrison will be the main caregiver. His job is becoming so stressful and he really wants to do this.

Things keep brewing in the background as harrison finds out more about harry. He tells Chris who tries to ‘save’ Alice. Harry is furious with harrison. Shady characters from Wolverhampton are around. Harrison gets into a suspicious accident where he maybe dies (!) leaving Fallon to raise a child alone. Suspicions fall in the Wolverhampton dog gangsters but Chris has his own theory.
