The Archers

Wow last night's episode o_O
What will Emma do now?
The guy who plays George is amazing.
I thought it was great too. Really felt for George despite him being a little so and so. I still think it would be so unlikely for him to go to prison which I suppose is why they’ve been reminding the listeners that Emma has experience of an unjust legal system. Surely George will realise in time that he has to come clean or his life won’t ever be easy.

I haven’t listened for a few weeks but at the time I felt quite sorry for George. He thought he was doing something good by getting Alice home until it backfired and they went off the road. He panicked and moved her because he shouldn’t have been driving the car. Moving her was crappy but I don't think there was any malice in it, he just didn’t know what to do.

Actually I don’t think all of this started off by George doing a good turn by driving Alice home, this is George Grundy we’re talking about and I think he just wanted to drive Alice’s very nice car and .. well we all know what happened after that, the fickle finger of fate intervened🤫. Yes moving Alice across was definitely because he panicked when he heard the sirens of the emergency services and his unraveling has made fascinating listening. I also think when he is less emotional he will be begging his mother to keep everything between them. The responsibility for going forward has been heaped on Emma, great storywriting, the worst possible person in the worse possible place to make the decision. There’s more than one scenario here, my personal thinking is she will make George realise he has to come forward.
All that said I don’t like the characters of George or Alice but they’re listening gold as the main characters in Rivergate.

It’s Emma’s surprise 40th birthday party tonight, Ed has been hard at work practicing his best John Travalta to delight Em .. what can go wrong 😅

Otherwise .. Harrison 😣 : .. sulking because she spoke to Alice, his saying they weren’t allowed to speak to Alice because of Court was an excuse not a reason, he blames Alice for the miscarriage and listeners have to be reminded about that. But it was worse than sulking IMO, he really wanted to make Fallon feel bad because she spoke to Alice, don’t think it was the charging station necessarily that made him so unsupportive, anything would have done to twist the knife. Passive aggression at its finest!

Can't see Fallon and Harrison lasting tbh. He's going to constantly punish her about not wanting children. Being angry with Alice is just his excuse and justification.
Harrison seems to hate Fallon being happy and positive about anything.
