I don't like Djokovic, but I found this whole thing hilarious. Especially with what he said in the press conference afterward.

"I stole his celebration" 😂 😂 😂

I haven't watched any tennis in a while, but Alcaraz sinner is just starting. Hopefully it'll be a good one!

Although I would have loved to see go on the journey of knocking out dimitrov, sinner and then Alcaraz. But wasn't ment to be!
 
I just watched Alcatraz-Sinner - the first match I’ve watched since the US Open. Not one of their classics. Carlos is my favourite player but I’m glad to see one of the other young players able to compete and beat him on a regular basis, especially Sinner who I also like.

Yeah nice to see someone else get through to the final, although Sinner is good at getting Alzaraz on the run.

I'd place money on Medvedev winning and he still wouldn't end his "never won the same tournament twice" thing :LOL:
 
Very well deserved for sinner. Love that he can barely hold the ridiculously huge trophy and that Medvedev is stuck holding the cuddly toy 😆
 
A penalty order against Zverev was issued this month in Berlin for him physically harming the mother of his child. the application by the prosecutor was already reported a few months back, now the district court granted it. In German law this essentially means that the evidence is so overwhelming that no trial is deemed necessary to penalize the suspect. However, he will appeal it and a public trial is likely now. He is still presumed innocent.

Interestingly the incident was in May 2020 (they seperated pretty soon after this). Their child was born 11 march 2021.

I hope over this case that also for his other ex-girlfriend, that he likely assaulted, justice will be served in a way even if not legally, but I doubt ATP will bat an eye.

Djokovic has totally ruined the sport I love

The fact there's literally no one (barring Alcaraz when he isn't injured or Medvedev when he plays out of his skin) that can stand up to Noledemort on a regular basis shows just how weak this era is

Totally agree. We’re looking at some dire years ahead and sadly, I can only partly blame Novaxx. If I were him and knew that barely anyone among the younger players are at that level, then I wouldn’t retire either. He’s free to break every possible record and keep those records for a loooong time, because there is nobody coming up. I fully expect him to win the calendar slam next year.
When Sampras retired with all those grand slam titles, Federer was already there, literally beating the man at Wimbledon and then taking over. With him came Nadal and Djokovic (a bit later). You had players like Murray too. If poor old Delpo‘s body hadn’t betrayed him like that, he would have won more than one grand slam title, I‘m sure. But right now, men‘s tennis isn’t looking great. I see the talent in players like Sinner, Ruud, Rune, Rublev etc. but it seems like a lot has to come together for any of them to win a title. Medvedev is the only one who gets closer to the big titles.
As for Alcaraz, I fear his body is going to give in rather sooner than later. His exhausting way of playing seems to catch up with him towards the end of seasons, which is understandable. I just hope he can avoid any major injuries.
 
I was hoping rune would beat Djokovic in Paris, and for the second time this year. Would have helped end the season with some encouragement. Sadly wasn't to be :(
 
It all feels a bit inevitable unless Novak’s age catch’s up with him & he starts to get injured. He had that 12 minute back massage in the Paris semi final.

I really hope he doesn’t get the calendar grand slam. I’ve been reading that he wants to win the gold medal at the Olympics. 🙄

He's missed a lot this year and been knocked out relatively early a couple of times. He'd definitely be struggling more if he did a full year

He'll be desperate to get the golden slam, but I don't think he'll manage it unless he gets to skip half of the masters events.
