Ted Lasso

Omg, the Sam Ryder song playing when Ted woke up to find the loaf of bread his mum had made...it was the most perfect, fitting and tear jerking moment 😭😭😭😭

I Shazam'd that! I knew it was Sam but didn't know the song. It was 'Fought & Lost' featuring Brian May which was appropriate given all the Freddie Mercury references. Fantastic song.

I couldn't work out if Jamie's dad was in prison or rehab.

Ah, yes, that makes sense! Definitely looked like an institutional setting of some kind, either would fit & it was obviously impacting him positively.
Exactly; Jamie realised he didn't need to fet his Dad's approval, and that allowed him to get out of his own head and just be Jamie Tarty again but a better post-Ted version. Plus he reached out by sending a text, showing he'd put his demons to rest.

Such a good show. Brilliant writing, and Phil Dunster should win awards!

Right at the end of the match, just before Jamie sent him a text.
Thanks, just gone back and watched it - yep, totally missed that but I was sorting out packed lunches for the kids at that point so obviously wasn't watching properly 😳 I was so desperate to watch it before going to work, I was proper multi tasking yesterday morning 🤣

Looked like rehab to me 🙂

It was an absolute blink and you’ll miss it moment!

I did think jail on first glance but after reading the comments I also watched again and I agree rehab now.

Jamie’s dad is definitely in rehab (I had to Google as it was so quick and we couldn’t agree whether hospital or prison!).

I loved the bit where Roy tries to get a goodbye kiss from Jamie’s mum, shame she’s married, would have loved Jamie’s reaction to him being his stepdad! Mind you he thinks Roy’s ancient, remember how says he’s still skittish about the war!

That doesn't change anything for me, they've all been saying for ages they don't know, it will depend on there being the right story, etc. It makes sense to say goodbye because it might never come back, but unless they're all dead or we get a flashforward to Ted in his 90s it's never definitely the end!
