This episode definitely solidified for me that it’s the end of ‘Ted lasso’ as we know it - Ted is defo leaving

That episode was so bloody wonderful.

I didn’t think the show could get better and then they weave in Freddie Mercury. It’s just perfection.

Very cool to get a Pep feature too.

I know it would be a good ending but I kind of hope they don’t win the whole bleeping thing.

Loved all the wizard of Oz references, I think there is no place like home for Ted and that’s the perfect ending.

I am in 2 minds about this. They seem to be clearly heading towards happy endings for everyone (although what is Rebecca's? Is the Dutch creepy man going to land back in her life)? But part of me thinks that is too 'twee' for all those happy endings and I want a curveball or 2 next week

I hope it’s the cheesy, weepy, schmaltzy, happily ever after for everyone that we have come to expect. I love that it’s nicer than real life but somehow still relatable (like the also wonderful Schitts Creek).

Oh I never thought about it like that - I loved Schitts Creek so yes, maybe a happy ending for everyone would be ok. The fact all the characters had become better versions of themselves was amazing and it does feel like this is heading that way. I retract my above statement of wanting some curveballs

Jamie's goal moment got me; the camera focussed purely on him, and his face, and it was his moment.

Also, Coach Beard's backstory was oddly fitting!

I feel like it’s more about being at peace with himself and knowing who he is and what he can do, now he doesn’t need his dad’s approval or support.

Ted is definitely leaving as his work there is done, so to speak and then its time to concentrate on himself.

I don’t think they’ll win as its too happy ending but they beat city at home and that will be enough!

WHat was the story worth Jamies dad? I thought he was dad the way the mates cheered him then as that him in the home or something?

For me it was Brandi Carlile's rendition of Home over the closing credits that opened the floodgates. My favourite singer, favourite show and such a beautiful song, and the tie in with Wizard of Oz / The Wiz. Also still feel emotional about Jamie! Don't usually rewatch unless I'm binging but will be watching the episode again today. What a great surprise it was to see Pep too, total legend. Loved Beard fangirling over him!

ETA - unpopular opinion but I like Jade, she's good for Nate, she helps him get out of his own way and seems to have helped him get rid of the chip on his shoulder.

His Dad is in a home of some sort; rehab, probably, and he was happy to see Jamie on the field.
