I loved Darcey too. She was a bit nervous at first so came across a bit frosty but once she found her groove she was brilliant, fair and funny. I loved one results show where she was talking about Helen George I think, and said, completely dismissively, "She did ballet, I did ballet..." erm, yes... I like Motsi too but Darcey was fab.

The judging seemed a lot more pragmatic with her in a seat. The year we had Ashley and Faye I don’t think the 10 paddle was shown until week 4/5 and Craig’s only came up once they hit Blackpool. She was constructive and critical in her marking. Brought a lot of class to the panel and seemed very fair in her analysis.

When performing dance you need to go OTT, let all your inhabitants go. I like her, but, can see why some might be left cold by her. She’s a super fan, seems to be enjoying herself, Vito appears to be giving her a good time and after Strictly super fan Ritchie had quite possibly not the best time, glad to see Sarah is. She’s living my strictly fantasy.

editing to add - I’m also loving Vitos frantic choreography and spinning, it suits their partnership and I love a twirly dance routine.

I agree, I think she is quite guarded.
I like her but I find her quite "arch" and "knowing" in how she speaks, kind of always actressy and "on".
As a poster said, a while ago, I think a lot of actors see it as a job, and are never 100% percent themselves.
I found Caroline Quentin, Greg Wise and Robert Webb to be a bit like that too.

Instagram seems like it was very reflective of voting last night. Both Jamie and Montell are trailing with 4k likes while every other couple is in the double digits.

Tasha 25.4k
Chris - 22.3k
Pete - 20.1k
JB - 10.6k
Sarah - 10.1k
Jamie - 4.5k
Montell - 4k

I really thought Jamie had a stronger vote and that people would rally behind him after another round of criticism from the judges. The show will be lesser without him and Michelle next week.

Very much so. He was the most entertaining for me, and their partnership was fab. I really enjoy Strictly but am not that bothered now about watching the rest of this series.

same! honestly i feel like, once pete goes, i’ll check out too. we all know chris is going to win and i don’t really feel much of anything about him or the other couples who will be in the final with him. i don’t think i’ve ever had a final of this show where i didn’t care about at least one pairing 🤣

I'm also really surprised at Sarah's position there, she was my joint favourite last night with Jamie who has been my solid favourite since he was announced.I didn't know Sarah at all before but have really grown to like her. If the likes reflect the voting and she stays there, she could be in real trouble if she doesn't top the leaderboard.

Some random thoughts.

The music was good last night, I don’t know why they couldn’t have had that at Blackpool instead of novelty routines.
Katya looked absolutely stunning ❤
Neil was so unprofessional and camera hogging when Aljaz and Tasha got 40 :mad:
I loved the routine from Jamie and Michelle, such a good connection between them (the judges can take their unfair comments and stick them where the sun don’t shine).
I like JB but I don’t understand how he got 10s when you could clearly see him preparing for the lifts. I also think one lift went wrong, the dismount looked clumsy.

Lastly, I can’t believe we are already approaching the final, the weeks have whizzed by.

the FB likes, which seem more representative (Tasha is definitely not topping the public vote) are different: it's Chris, Tasha, Sarah, JB, Pete, Jamie, Montell. YouTube views have the same order. I think Sarah is a solid 2nd-3rd in the public vote. There were also millions of comments on socials about her, mostly saying she was undermarked.
I think the real question is whether Pete can hang on again (he's probably 3rd or 4th in the votes) and if Montell will have a 3rd DO on the trot (a record!) :cry:

i thought this too - i watched it again this morning and they’re completely out of sync in the side by side section because his energy level clearly dropped. he’s a different and better dancer with lauren but no way was that dance a 10.

Every year, I hope someone will finally get a song from Hamilton in Musicals week. It’s my own fault for hoping they’ll choose some newer musicals rather than returning to the same six or seven year after year.

When Nigel withdrew last year, I stopped watching because I wasn’t bothered about any of the other couples. The show just feels so much flatter once the couple you’re rooting for and enjoying has gone.
