Montell is suffering from a split vote, I think. She's one of my favourites but I had to plough everything into Jamie. She's like a Eurovision song that doesn't do as well as it should, "I love it, but I'm voting for someone else". I'm sad for her, and she'll probably be out next, but she'll have fun on the tour.

She is a trained dancer, so no emotion or joy like Pete or Jamie. We love the challenges that Pete and Jamie have.
 
I have felt moved by some of Tasha's performances, mostly the rumba and samba (which incidentally were slightly less perfect than other dances). I feel like the missing ingredient is chemistry, for whatever reason it feels like both could be dancing with anyone, there doesn't seem to be a Tasha and Aljaz identity.

I like her, and I don't think Aljaz is incapable of chemistry; he had it with Abbey - I loved them together - and he was even decent at it with less capable dancers like Gemma or even the Marquess lady. I love amazing dances and dancers, but I think the thing that tips it for me in this show is often the partnership, whether it's ringer, middler or duffer. It's why I adore Jamie and Michelle, and am unexpectedly endeared by Pete and Jowita.
 
I think Montell is not standing out enough. Her dancing is lovely but are not as flashy as some other routines. During Blackpool week , her and Jojo did a really nice routine, but were up against some shocking trousers, the kylie routine, wynn doing something in front of a puppet show type background.... Also i don't thinkJojos routines have the same spark they had had in other years.

Hate to say it cos I love JoJo, but I think he has been coasting along this series and phoning it in a bit. He’s coming up with perfectly good routines but don’t get the impression he is bothered if they are there or not. On the candy grab vt they did Montell was saying his annoying habit is “wheres JoJo” cos he keeps disappearing during training.
Ajaz is perfectly nice but oh so bland ,on camera at least,paired with Tasha, meh beige central.
 
The only pairings with chemistry this series are Pete/Jowita, Jamie/Michelle, Dianne/Chris, and JB/Lauren (would've been great if they were together from the start.) The rest haven't been good imo. Johannes has definitely checked out this series, don't think he'll be back.

I think you could swap around all the female celebs' partners.

Sarah and Vito lack chemistry and he overcomplicates her routines.

Montell and Johannes lack chemistry and he doesn't seem to have put his usual effort into her routines.

Tasha and Aljaz lack chemistry and he doesn't seem up to the challenge.

You could also swap Sam, Toyah and... Er... Who was the other woman's partners.

I rewatched the sambathon this morning to try and see what was actually happening and I can’t get over how much better JB is with Lauren. He comes alive when dancing with her. They absolutely should have been paired together from the beginning.

Completely agree. She also, unfortunately, appears to bring no personality at all to her dances. Technically very good, but completely unmemorable.
I remember her from LI, she was bland on that too.
