He apparently was offered a new contract but quit the show when Amanda put forward an official complaint. At least that was his pr seem to have fed to the media, I don’t really buy him stepping down.I dont think he stood down as such. They are employed on a season by basis so I think he wasnt offered a contract for this year. Its not a full time PAYE job you need to give notice on. They are sekf employed
I think regarding the Gio/Amanda situation everyone needs to be quiet until the investigation is complete. You have Amanda giving interviews, then her parents commenting and Gio is making comments.
Yes, tv interviews can be edited to put a spin on things either way, and printed articles can be spun,
but at least when the public see the interviewee reacting on screen, they can note their body language and make up their own mind about the person.
Kai has Chinese roots?! How did I not know this? How so?
I'm just wondering if people dipping into this thread might think that the EastEnders actor who is also a dancer and west end performer the actual John Partridge might be being investigated for something sinisterThe DM says: "Sources close to the situation say that Mr [John Partridge] now expects to be cleared of bullying her after the three-month investigation, with the BBC announcing its findings to both parties on Monday. The Corporation is also expected to release an 'anodyne' statement."
Anyone else read those last two words in a daft faux-oriental accent?Kai has Chinese roots?! How did I not know this? How so?
He looks so like his mum while Theo is a younger version of his dad not just in l9oks but career wise tooMaternal grandad.
i get what you mean, but i disagree with this because it really turns into trial by media. if amanda is emotional and teary, and giovanni by contrast is smooth and coached, then the public are “making up their own mind” based on no evidence other than what the person is like on camera. there’s also the added detail, as has been thrown around numerous times, that amanda is an actress. anything she does on camera is immediately doubted by a lot of people for that reason.
It already us a trial by media ( and social media.)
it is, but getting into the realms of wanting counteracting interviews so that body language can be analysed makes it even more so. and, as said, amanda is at an immediate disadvantage there from being an actress.
Absolutely this. Any complaints should have been investigated immediately, and appropriate action taken.I think there should be more questions asked about why the BBC renewed Graziano's contract when it's implied they knew about the Zara situation earlier. We're they hoping to sweep it under the carpet? The BBC are not coming out of this well at all.
She mentions it on the second slide. Says she forgave him at the time, and he's not racist.Great but she doesnt actually address the fact that Anton called her a p**i and a terrorist and whether she felt this was acceptable in what was technically her workplace.
Thats what headlines about her have been about.
