Maybe this could be a societal advancement - increasing awareness of workplace bullying. And awareness for tiger moms like Kristina (or are Russians 'polar bear moms'?)

Might as well look for silver linings. Oh, and rewarding those who've been compassionate and reasonable all along! Maybe they'll be cherished that bit more in the future. Hello Johannes, Pasha, Lauren...
 
I’ve either missed a big chunk of information or am just dim…. Graziano was sacked and sent packing months after claims came out about Giovanni. There was a complaint from one person about Graziano and yet 7 against Giovanni and yet he’s still hanging on. From my (menopausal) memory he stood down and wasn’t sacked. Why hasn’t he been sacked and booted off back to Italy in the same way or is it because he’s got friends in high places? Why was Zara’s evidence enough but Amanda’s isn’t?
 
I guess because he denied it? They covered up Graz at first and it was only when the video emerged they did something. So with Gio they seem to have done nothing (multiple times) then only launched an investigation when Amanda brought her lawyers in.

I see he’s also got voicemails where they say ‘I love you’ - Amanda’s a luvvie, presumably she says that a million times a week!
 
Well this is all pretty horrendous and I am glad the workplace bullying has been called out and I hope Zara, Amanda, Laura and all others who were treated badly can find some comfort and closure in the actions taken by the BBC. Anyone else getting a bit tired of the "the show must not go on" posts mainly on DS but a bit on here? I bloody love Strictly and would be gutted if it was cancelled. Apologies if that makes me a selfish arse.

Of course it's gonna carry on, they will just change things. Some things for this year, probably more changes for next year.

It took nearly killing someone for the BBC to cancel Top Gear. This isn't going to cancel Strictly, just get changes made, staff replaced etc.

I dont think he stood down as such. They are employed on a season by basis so I think he wasnt offered a contract for this year. Its not a full time PAYE job you need to give notice on. They are sekf employed

😂 I did say ‘vaguely’. Come on, it’s an improvement from the golf wear and the beige suit monstrosity. The other thing I’ve noticed is as he gets older his Chinese genetics are becoming more obvious, maybe it’s the shorter hair? I see no stories since a fairly sedate dinner with Molly and Tyler last night, I need clubbing and loads of babes!

I dont know if I'm misremembering but I'm sure everyone thought last year was Gios last year on Strictly before the whole Amanda thing had become public (although obviously there were rumours regarding why she left etc) I think he went before he was pushed, and also thought he didn't need the show anymore with all his tours etc.

By working with him, and cryptic tweeting, all 4 of them are publically supporting him whilst he's still under investigation. Either they know he'll be cleared, or they've got no morals.

This is spot on:
It’s one thing the judges supporting Pernice privately. After all, no one can control that, but, if they want to remain on the show and the BBC really want to thoroughly investigate allegations of Strictly being a toxic workplace, I don’t see how there is any way they can or should be allowed to continue to work with Pernice outside the show or support him in public forums, at this moment in time.

I don't understand why it's taken so long either. Especially as Amanda said Gio was forced to apologise to her every week. Sounds like a very open and shut case to me.

My Miss Marple take on it is, the BBC were hoping to pay Amanda to go away. She played hardball and told them he would need to go so he didn't do this to anyone else.

At one point in his tour, he was alluding that he would be back in strictly this year. It seemed that Amanda contacted lawyers and his contract wasn't renewed.

It's all very strange!!!

Personally I feel that unless there is video showing Gio being openly abusive to Amanda, the conclusion will satisfy no-one. A he said/she said thing. But we all now abuse takes many forms.

Either way, there needs to be a clear out of producers at strictly. Heads need to role for allowing these situations to arise and not dealing with them.
 
Is it going to be concluded next week? I’ve seen stuff online saying that but also seen stuff that say it could be ongoing to next year? I’m hoping they do conclude soon

I think they will want to try and conclude it before the new series starts and before they announce the celebs for this year.

As both sides appear to be now be discussing it, I think they know that an outcome is due soon. My guess a bland statement from the BBC will be forthcoming Tuesday/wednesday this week and they will start announcing the celebs the following week.

The DM says: "Sources close to the situation say that Mr [John Partridge] now expects to be cleared of bullying her after the three-month investigation, with the BBC announcing its findings to both parties on Monday. The Corporation is also expected to release an 'anodyne' statement."
