Krishnan, who still put in a lot of work but he can't speak highly enough of his pro partner because of the way she treated him and the environment she created.
I wish I could remember something Krishnan said on ITT about that.
It was so lovely, along the lines of the trust that Lauren had in him, and that she respected him as a dancer.

It was clear that it meant a lot to him, because he wasn't a dancer, yet had progressed so much, with her.
It was Janette who was interviewing him and she missed the point completely and just giggled at what he said. But it was absolutely lovely to hear, and as I said it clearly meant so much to him.

I don't really watch strictly keep seeing the Amanda Abington drama on the news moaning.
Do the celebs expect to do zero work and get a massive pay cheque?
The dancers have to try get them up to professional level in a short amount of time. It's going to be grueling and unpleasant. No one would watch the show if they all danced tit.
The training isn't going to be a nice process.
Can you point me to where Amanda has moaned about having to work? Because if you paid any attention to what's been said you would know her complaint is not about the workload, and if you watched Strictly you would know from the quality of her performances that she was not afraid to put the work in. Why comment on something you admit you know nothing admit?

As far as I can see, the producers have a lot to answer for and there should be many changes made. The buck stops with them, so they need to go. It seems certain that they were aware of complaints about some pros over the years. Yet they have done nothing to address this until they were forced to. They watched footage of Amanda and Gio, were ‘absolutely horrified’ and then just let it carry on. They knew how Graz was treating Zara and gave him two warnings, then rewarded him with a place on the tour and a new contract
It‘s unacceptable behaviour from TPTB, allowing a toxic work environment to flourish. Alongside pushing the false narrative that everyone loves each other and this is the best time of their lives.
I‘ve loved Strictly for years, but it feels so fake and tarnished now :(

The abuse Amanda has received is disguising. What kind of person writes or says those things to another person about them and members of their family. There’s no wonder people don’t speak up. Society is vile at times.
Exactly.
The refrain of 'why didn't Zara say anything' side by side with the way Amanda was and is being absolutely torn to shreds, is actually depressing.
That's why Zara didn't speak out.
That's why people don't speak out, in abuse situations , in bullying situations... that's why.

As others have said surely Amanda's words should hold some weight. She has been an actress for a long time and has been in many rehearsals rooms. She has done west end plays, she knows hard work, she knows long days. She also knows her worth and should have been listened to.

People need to stop protecting the dancers just because they like them.

I really think this will be the end of strictly.

It's gone way downhill in recent years, ever since Len left it's really gone to tit. But this is too far.

Their "pros" are abusing women. Yes the training should be physically gruelling, and yes that will sometimes have unintended mental health side effects. But the people doing the training should not be emotionally and physically abusing their partners. The fact camera crews etc. all turned a blind eye to this, allowed the videos to be edited without calling it out, just shows they don't care. I don't see how it can continue.

I honestly don't understand how they can go ahead with it this year, it would surely be advisable to take a year out, reboot/rebrand and start again from scratch. There is just too much negativity around it, even if they have started rehearsing.
It’s too late for that. They’ll have contracts in place, not just for the cast but all the crew, catering, etc. All that needs to be paid for and people will say it’s a waste of taxpayers money (based on the licence fee, which the tabloids will also whip themselves up about).

All those camera operators and make up artists etc won’t be able to necessarily find the same level of work even if the BBC does have some form of cancellation clause which means they don’t need to pay them. It would leave a lot of ordinary people out of pocket.

What would they fill Saturday and Sunday schedules with until Christmas? Not to mention the ITT slot (which is admittedly easier with repeats of something)

What difference will a year make except people’s memories will have faded and it will suddenly be a case of they never should have cancelled it, it’s all just such good family entertainment.

Don’t get me wrong there needs to be change at the top and the investigation into both claims has taken way too long but cancelling it at this stage isn’t that easy.

Amanda only wanted dignity at work, she wasn’t looking to take GP down, she just wanted to enjoy the show she had signed up to. She was prepared to put in the work, she just wanted to do it in a non hostile environment.
The BBC not only denied Amanda dignity at work whilst she was still taking part in the show, they have drawn out her misery. They continue to allow GP and his supporters (who share financial interests) to undermine her and add to the press and social media pile on that would test the strongest of people.

I’ll say it again, Amanda only wanted dignity at work but instead of dealing with it swiftly, the BBC have managed to bring the show to crisis point.

I am so glad Amanda has been able to speak out and many who were pro-Gio before have since had a change of heart. Thanks to Krishnan and Christine who were able to handle the interviews in sensible and sensitive manner.

They could easily fill the slot, and surely it's less of a waste than the number of lawsuits they could be facing if their pros continue to abuse the celebrities. I can't see how it can go ahead. There's too much scrutiny.

Too much scrutiny is why it can go ahead this year. Everyone will be on best behaviour

Am not a fan of Strictly these days. I enjoyed the early days of it but meanwhile it seems so over inflatable with extra side shows and over hype.

dancers have big egos.

I don’t know yet who to believe but a thorough investigation is needed.

Amanda is so brave speaking out and the threats to her and her family from the public and those in the Biz are disgusting.

the Channel 4 interview is chilling.

This isn’t about having to work, it’s about bullying in the workplace.
