Just saw this shared on the celeb gossip thread where they are hoping the 3rd celebrity is Kevin Clifton. I met someone yesterday who saw him in ETAJ and they said he was amazing and had a great singing voice too.
 
It's probably Artem, Brendan or James, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was Kevin. Despite enjoying his partnership with Susan Calman at the time, since then I've gotten manipulative, lovebombing creep vibes from him. And I don't mean to sound judgey but fuck it, to have 3 failed marriages there must be something wrong with you.

Didn't Annika Rice say something about how he pushed her into something in the Charleston that she knew she couldn't do and she got injured? And that he convinced her she was capable in a really nice, supportive way and then deleted her number the second they were eliminated and she felt really stupid for letting him talk her into it?

The only that made me second-guess that assessment is thinking surely Stacey couldn't be taken in by abuser tactics when she literally makes documentaries about the subject... and then the Zara and Graziano thing happened.

She met him in the intense experience that is Strictly and they won. I think it would be very easy to lovebomb someone in that kind of situation and for them not to recognise it for what it is.
 
This was nagging at the back of my mind and I saw someone mentioning it on Digital Spy too.
If it's a former celebrity who has nothing to do with the show, what is the purpose of investigating them now?

Please dont anyone take me up wrong. 😳
Name and shame if there's something there. But they can't do anything to them iykwim? Or can they?

Don't take it personally. I was only using your post because there have been quite a lot of similar posts over the last couple of threads and I was exaggerating.

Part of the reason we like these shows, including old X Factor, Pop Idol etc is the gladiatorial aspect. Watching the brutality of these shows and the struggle. It's no coincidence that the audience numbers for those shows dropped off the radar when that disappeared. It maybe healthier but I'm not sure it's what people want to watch. I'm not saying it's right either but it definitely appeals to something more basic in our psyche.

I absolutely hate Kevin Clifton, I have had bad vibes from him since day one. Saw him in Strictly Ballroom last year just after the birth of their baby and he stayed on stage long after the bows doing lots of fake yawns and rocking a pretend baby. Fuck off Clifton, this isn't YOUR show. Bellend.

As I said earlier, unearthing "historical" wrongdoing isn't necessarily about cancelling the Pro dancer.
It is ammunition for the shut down the BBC and cancel the licence fee movement.

Cannot stand him. ( Or Neil.)
And while I'm on my soapbox, I didn't like Graziano.
Thought he looked like a creepy sex pest version of Dogtanian.

Also I disliked Giovanni until that night Len gave him a good telling off on one of the shows and it made me feel sorry for him.

I never liked Kevin either. He and his sister acted like annoying theatre kids even though they were adults in their 30s. Though I've somewhat warmed to Joanne on ITT. But Kev is just so entitled.

I reckon he loved working with Susan because she worshipped him. Anneka didn't really, and you could tell in Anneka's Insta videos from training that Kevin was very tense and awkward around her, I think he was truly stumped dealing with a duffer who wasn't going to benefit him in any way.

100% all of this about Kevin. Not nasty abuse but definitely manipulation and love bombing. He did the same to Louise Redknapp about making her believe they were friends for life and then ghosting her after the show.

Oh I could not agree more. I could never understand the adulation for him. I think that under the chirpy chappy facade he’s a right angry little fucker.
 
I don’t think it would be Kevin, I remember seeing an interview with him where he said he was glad that Stacey was partnered with Pasha on the live tour as he wouldn’t want her to be partnered with someone who would shout at her. They obviously all know who are the worse ones for that. My guess would be James Jordan, I saw a video on Tik Tok the other day of him calling one of his pros fat and trying to stop her from taking a break. It was a clip being shown on Strictly and Claudia is laughing along to it as they show it, it’s clear that there has been no safeguarding in place from the start.

Caveat: I was told this several years ago by someone who had been involved in the show backstage at the time, but it is hearsay so I cannot say it’s absolutely true:

Susannah Reid was besotted with Kevin; you’ll recall that she ended her marriage shortly after her time on the show. As far as is known, nothing actually happened (Kevin & Karen were in a good place at the time), but supposedly not through want of trying on her part.

Given his numerous marriages, and the number of his partners who have seeming fallen for him, he must have a hell of a line in patter.
 
With the Amanda/Gio situation will the fact Amanda went for more formal action after the season wrapped be an issue? If the pros are just contracted per season and the show had finished would things less BBC lead and more out of their control.
Graz was announced as a pro for this year so technically re-employed therefore under BBC scope and unable to hide behind legal teams, especially as currently no further action has been taken unlike Gio?
Don't know if that made any scenes just thinking how both have been dealt with differently.
Edit to add I was surprised at the time JJ got away with the Georgina comments as was beyond what was shown before and obviously talked down to her.

He is such a plain man. He didn’t look like a dancer. Looks like a maths teacher. He must have a brilliant line of patter.
