It does make me suspect that all of the pros are like this tbh. Nancy and her no coffee breaks for Rhys. Adam seemed borderline terrified of Katya. I did not get good vibes from Nikita with Ferngate - sorry I just wanted to win too much being the excuse there too. Vito encouraging Ellie to dive headfirst at the floor etc etc

It does seem a lot of pros are harsh taskmasters and some may have caused or risked injuries in their celebs through over-training and being too reckless with their safety. That's not okay. But it is still a million miles from kicking, hitting, and spitting at someone.

True. I guess I'm still holding out some hope the tabloids are massively exaggerating/sensationalizing it and there's some further context, especially as they don't really have much to them beyond the headline, but yeah, it doesn't look good.

It's just wild that this is so out of left field, with no real rumours beforehand and them seeming to still be friends as recently as a few weeks ago.

Is he really some Machiavellian schemer manipulative abuser? I wouldn't have thought he was smart enough tbh. I guess we'll have to wait and see what else comes out of this, if any other celebs will come forward etc.

Presumably it is not just a competitive spirit that makes them hard teachers. Being successful on SCD brings them money. The more successful, the more the money and opportunities they get. If you year on year get duffer celebs you don’t get the opportunity to shine on tv. When they get someone amazing to dance with, kerching. When they get someone who is in the middle like Zara and Amanda and Ranvir etc - it is in their pros interest to push them to get better. They know there is no point with the duffers. They come from quite a nasty world, it would seem natural to them to push and push. And seemingly kick. SCD has lost its way and sparkle.

That's supposing that everyone is motivated by money. If that were true then I would have expected a few ex-pro's to have chosen different career paths after leaving the show.

Anyhow, they are all individuals and have/had a range of different teaching styles. If I were a celeb I'd rather be paired with a dancer who was able to adapt to my limitations while also being able to encourage me to push beyond them. Some people react better to the carrot rather than the stick approach and Pro's should be helped to tailor their training regimes accordingly.

Not posted on the SCD threads for a while, but have come running back at this bombshell as I was another one who completely bought the Graziano labrador act.

It just seems so strange, there was lots of jokes about Zara’s love for her partner - she clearly supported him on his tour so it doesn’t surprise me that the complaint has not come from her.

I wonder if following the Giovanni allegations, all training footage has been reviewed and the production team have flagged something of concern.
Zara has only just had the all-clear to return to normal gym training after fracturing her leg - does anyone know how that injury occurred?
Just wondering if it was a stress fracture, was she complaining of pain during training but Graz has pushed her through it or even worse was he the cause of the injury?

I would take a lot of what the papers say at the moment with a pinch of salt, they will be running Chinese whispers and just printing anything whilst there is nothing being said by the BBC, Graz or Zara.
It will all come out in the wash sooner rather than later though, in the meantime TPTB are going to have to pull some fairly spectacular stunts to stop this completely overshadowing the 20th anniversary.

It was a stress fracture, and I think she already had it before Strictly, but I've got a tit perception of time so not sure. She said something a while ago about having had it for over a year, but I can't remember exactly when she said that, so not sure if it was related to Strictly or not. She has talked about osteoporosis running in her family and having bone density issues because of that. I did think it seemed nuts that she could have trained as many hours as she did with a problem like that, regardless of whether the fracture was already known about or not.

If he encouraged her to worsen it - big yikes. That seems to be a problem with the whole culture of the show though, so I'm not sure they'd fire him for that? There's obviously so much we don't know.

Johannes in his book, touches on how hard he was on his first partner on the SA show because it’s so competitive, so much that the producer had to speak to him and reign him in. They come from a world where winning is a priority and it’s probably very hard to bring that down a notch or two when teaching beginners.
I’m not saying it’s excusable, it’s absolutely not. If Zara has had to live with all this for 8 months and scared to say anything in fear of breaking up the strictly happy family, I truly feel for her.
In this day and age it’s strange that the rehearsal rooms aren’t kitted out with CCTV

I was just thinking Zara must have not told her parents what happened as didn’t they go with her to his show? What kind of environment is Strictly that it either makes people think it is normal to be physically and verbally abused, so don’t mention it or too scared to say anything. Surely the big boss Sarah-Jane needs to take some responsibility for the culture behind the scenes.

I've woken up feeling even more sad and bleeping furious for Zara. Imagine getting your dream career opportunity and then it turning into a nightmare abusive situation that you can't talk about to anyone. It's not just the abusive behaviour, it's the manipulation too - putting someone in a situation where he was clearly confident enough to think he could get away with it

And shame on all those people commenting on his post. I just cannot get my head around anyone's first reaction being sympathy for him, especially when he's admitted wrongdoing in the actual post! Even if you don't know what to think about it before you get any details, the most sensible option would be to simply not comment, rather than going to the effort of putting a gushing post about how wonderful he is ffs

The Fail are really pushing the line that the Graz scandal makes Gio 'seem like a pussy cat' (maybe don't mention pussy in relation to him?). I think Amanda would disagree and weren't her allegations similar - deliberately stamping on her foot, verbal abuse? Presumably there isn't a damning video in his case....

A junior production member witnessed a Graz incident but was too scared to report it until the Gio investigation.
