I had a feeling this would be the dance off and result. I found Angela completely forgettable and it wasn’t her dance at all (maybe having such a strong dance last week didn’t help).

Layton is following that well trodden ringer path of hitting the dance off when his scores dropped. That was the first of their dances that I didn’t really enjoy to be honest, too stilted and “bitty” for me. But his overall dancing exquisite and he could knock anyone one else out of the dance off.

I really liked Nigel’s dance and feel he was underscored again. He’s popular but there may be an element of people voting for him because they’re sick of him being dragged every week.

Annabel was much better than I thought she’d be! I’ve seen worse Paso’s. I think a lot of folk will think Angela going over her is the first shock elimination.

I’m not really sure what to say about Bobby and stay in the realms of politeness. I’m no fan of ‘sob stories’, that’s no secret but I don’t grudge anyone an opportunity to tell their story in CC…I just don’t get how that was a tribute to Jade Goody AT ALL. It reminded me of a kinder gym class, just loads of running and jumping. Jade was a lot of things but she struck me as someone who would like a dance so I think a more fitting tribute would have been something he could do an upbeat, disco dance to. Staying away from S Club Seven though 😬

Anton definitely has an issue with Ellie and Vito. Surely it’s not because Vito has stolen the Most Popular Italian title from his mate? He gives out 9s and 10s RELENTLESSLY and isn’t nitpicky with anyone…yet she had to have a point taken off.

Is anyone else struggling to get into it this year? I’m just not enjoying it as much but it could just be me. One good thing is that I’m not invested enough to have a favourite - I love that for me! It takes the pressure right off 😂

Absolutely GUTTED that Layton is in the bottom two, although I knew it was going to happen tonight. He just doesn't have the public support, which makes me really sad. There's the people who don't like him because 'he's a professional' and there's the people who don't like him because he's a loud and proud, flamboyant, unapologetically gay POC. (And some because he's both).

Relieved that the majority of judges saved him tonight. I know this is going to sound REALLY pathetic but I've been going through a really tough time lately (I just lost my Dad, my mental health has been.... let's say not so good and leave it at that as I don't want to bring the vibe down) but watching team Lakita every week and going on their social media has brought me a genuine glimmer of joy. I'm not sure what I'll do when that ends.

For what it’s worth that doesn’t sound pathetic at all, it sounds lovely. Anything that brings you joy should be celebrated

Sending you lots of love FM. I’m so sorry for your loss and it’ll only be harder at this time of year. My dad was my favourite person in the world and I lost him a few years ago now, but there’s not a day goes by that I don’t think about him or wish he was here. But please believe me, it does get easier. You will automatically smile and laugh when thinking about him even if you can’t imagine being in that position now. For the second year I have a Robin who is waiting for me outside every time I go out. I can tell by the markings it’s the same one and I’m sure it’s my dad. It brings me so much comfort.

I hope you have lots of people to speak to your dad about. Don’t be afraid to do that, it won’t make those who love you uncomfortable. And if you don’t think you can, post here! There are a lot of people in the same boat

Strictly is normally a great distraction for me but it’s not working this year - it’s fine until we get closer to the final because that means nearly Christmas and it’s not my favourite time of year. But tap into whatever works for you, and Tattle itself has been a great distraction for me.

Sending you lots of love ❤️

just catching up....not overly surprised at that bottom two, but gutted for both of them!
I liked Angela, she may not have been the most memorable but I enjoyed watching her dance!

I hope Layton handles being in the dance off okay and doesnt let it derail him going forward. I love them, but their dance last night wasn't the best and the odd costumes didnt help!

Layton and Nikita were screwed over by wardrobe last night. That dance would have looked so much better in different outfits.
It was as if Vicky had a rummage in the back of the cupboard, they didn’t match or co- ordinate, and the trousers on Layton looked a massive trip hazard.
Annabel’s dress looked another liability with way too much sleeve and skirt volume ( gave me AJ’s paso dress, which did prove a slip hazard)

Yeah, this is how I'm feeling. It's still Strictly and I still love it, but I've not really gotten into it much this year. I fully admit this is partly because my fave Gorka went out early, but also it's just all felt a bit polished and clinical this year - not many dances with that much feeling, just lots of proficiency.

Saying that, Nigel's rumba is the first dance to really hit me in the feels this series and I may have re-watched it more than a few times already 😁

nah, he's gonna have an amazing week next week, I just feel it!! hopefully Nikita reigns in his choreography, I know he has a massive fan base here but for me he is very hit and miss!

What musicals do we think they'll use this year? Mary Poppins will be on there somewhere, no doubt. We've already had Grease and The Sound of Music on Movie Week. I'm wondering if Layton dying his hair was in preparation for if he made it to musicals week. An American Smooth to "He's my boy" would have been quite lovely, but they did American Smooth this week and it would probably be to the title song anyway, even though that's already been done before. It'd be nice if they avoided the obvious though.

That's the thing with Musicals week it's shoehorning the remaining styles of dance the contestants have left into Musical theme. If you have CC then at least you get a bit of freedom choreographically but to a song you probably wouldn't have chosen.

Morning all!

i know this discussed last night but I’ve only just watched - the second Bobby started talking about his mum I thought ‘oh, we’re using emotional manipulation this week, are we?!’

It was gross.

how much input would Bobby have had in to that?

i really, really dislike people using loss as part of their sob story. It just cheapens grief.
and I am saying that as someone who lost a parent when I was very young, and then the other before most of my friendship had even lost a grandparent.

Sara Davies said she was meant to dance to a song from Six but she was eliminated the week before so it never happened. I’ve been waiting and hoping for that song choice to get used ever since. It didn’t happen last year but a song from that could suit Ellie. And I’m still holding out hope for them to finally remember that Hamilton exists and use something from that.

There’s so many brilliant musicals out there and I’d love the BBC to vary what they use rather than always picking the same musicals.

(Having said that, I’d love to see Nigel dancing an AT to Roxanne from Moulin Rouge if he’s still in. I don’t think it’s been used since Simon Webbe and it’s due another use.)

Nope. I'm 100% invested. Just spent thirty minutes crying at the futility of not having a mam. I would say I need to get out more, but I go out loads 😂❤️

I think one of the main reasons for Annabel staying in is Johannes’ popularity.
I think you are right. He seems lovely but I don’t get his appeal either!

Looking on DM, Annabel really has the gammon vote. I know on here people think Bobby has but his mum would have been too “common” for them to like plus he is too young. Annabel is “classy” and in the style of “never puts a foot wrong” Princess of Wales.

Plus if the palling around with Farage and Fox would really boost her popularity more if known!
