Katya also did her best with Nicola Adams, in a same sex partnership, but I was not really sorry when they were gone.
Not that I wished illness to be the reason.
But it was never going to go very far even though I think Katya is outstanding. Absolutely outstanding.

Nicola was on the Graham Norton show a while later and came across a lot better. I think Strictly is probably quite a baptism of fire for people and it must be hard for some not to shrivel under the scrutiny. And that's before they set foot on the floor on a Saturday night.

I think that's one of the reasons I love Krishnan so much. He has always been onscreen, due to his job, but the sheer joy that has emerged and the vulnerability he has shown, in talking about what Strictly means to him, is just on another scale entirely.

i don’t mind the 9 in itself but, as others have said, it’s the 9 when he really gave no indication what detail was lacking for him, gives them nothing to work with.

it’s like when he gave maisie’s quick step a 9 both times she did it but with no real reason as to why. sometimes i think he just likes the drama of doing it 🤣
I think he does too - he'll wind up giving one next week to the awareness of Bobby and we'll all be scratching our heads over it.

Oh he definitely does love the drama.
In fairness to him, he is often the only one prepared to be critical but he told them it was amazing, gave them no critique at all, then a 9.

I like Anton, but my goodness, isn't he well paid enough to produce actual words! He was particularly bad last night with the woohoo weyhey and arm waving. And yes, we know, he danced with Ann Widdecombe. We know.

Anton’s a bit baffling as a judge because sometimes he gives really good critique and advice and then sometimes he goes The Full Len.

exactly this. i love all three of them equally (when i came into this series as very much NIGEL OR NO ONE) and would be happy if any one of them won. my head still says it will be ellie but layton seems to only be building his popularity with people who i guess would have written him off as a ringer at the start.

it will be a wonderful final either way, what a treat we’ll be in for! providing that the awareness of the thoughts of bobby doesn’t somehow coast in.

A Layton-Ellie-Nigel final would be one of those rare finals where I genuinely enjoy watching every finalist and wouldn’t mind who wins. Those are the three couples I want to watch dance every single week until the very end of the series.

However, I have wondered if the producers might decide to save Bobby’s CC for the semi-final to give him the boost to sail into the final. Whether it’s dedicated to his mum or dad, it’s inevitably going to get him a bunch of extra votes whatever week he dances it in.

That really would be the Ore treatment.

The backlash would likely be quite significant considering either Ellie or Nigel would have to be sacrificed.

I like the image of Vito sternly telling Vicky to remove all his shirt buttons, ‘every last one!’, while reading an article by Brendan in the Birmingham Mail online.

I see the icon Judi James has finally weighed in, to tell us that Vito fancies Ellie but it’s not reciprocated 🤔
Almost certainly the other way round.;)

Bruno is one of the judges. You get more critique from a sponge

I haven't really been following this season much, but watched last week's episode because it happened to start autoplaying on youtube.

The audience was maddening, booing every time any judge said anything other than 'that was perfect' and at nearly every score under 9/10.

Bruno did offer some actual critique at least a couple of times, but always in a 'well the technique was non-existent/terrible, but I'm still going to give at least an 8 because the producers won't allow accurate marks on DWTS of your performance' kind of way.

It also did make me appreciate how good Angela R really is (for her age.) I love Barry Williams and I'm glad he's still in but he's nowhere near as good as Angela and he's 10 years younger.

I could definitely see them going the Ore route with Bobby. And after enduring that ridiculous final that involved them flying Gene Kelly’s widow out to be in the audience and Len literally giving Ore a standing ovation while reminding everyone that Ore had never danced before, I don’t trust the Strictly producers at all.

The only hope I have is that Bobby seems to have plateaued which doesn’t match with what the producers probably originally had planned for his Strictly journey. Even last night’s AS, which is the first dance of his I’ve really liked, didn’t manage to finally get his score above 32. Whereas Ore scored a 39 in Week 4.

Re: Jayde - I think she was actually alright for the first few weeks (I still think her Tango was pretty decent) but I get the impression she resented Hamza stealing her thunder as the contestant proving bigger people can dance well so she spat the dummy and stopped trying. I also got the impression that she and Karen got on fine to begin with, and things turned sour.

I love Leyton, I actually hope he wins, and this dance was fantastic, but I have to confess I found this moment a little false 🙈

He still had tears in his eyes and was quite subdued at the very end of the show during the keeeeeep dancing bit. I think he was totally overcome by the emotion of what he'd just done and been totally lost in it. I think he's very attuned to what it meant in a wider context too.

Rewatch sans hangover.
Katya - just wow. I too would go to Paris and drink champers if my husband was dancing with her.
I thought Bobby was divine. Don't get all the hate on here.
Nikita and Layton - just WOW. Breathtakingly stunning. Wonderful partnership, absolutely thrilling to watch. Could the gbp be convinced to vote them as the winners?! They are mine! 😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥

Jade’s ego was the undoing of her. Which is a shame, because what makes SCD fun to watch is seeing how people with different / not typically “dancer” shapes develop through the competition.

yes - he was still a little overwhelmed in the post-dance video they put on insta too (where nikita very much does all the talking). it seemed completely genuine to me, like you say i think he was just legitimately overcome.

She clings to him like a bloody limpet. Unpopular opinion but the pair of them give me the ick, Nigel seems like a nice enough bloke but don't understand the hype for him at all, and their constant fawning over each other is so irritating and borderline disrespectful to his 'beloved wife'. 🤮

Maybe I'm blind but I've never seen this. They seem perfectly normal.

I’m quite surprised they haven’t wheeled Jackieyiey out for Knobby yet. They must be waiting for his couples choice.

I thought Jeff had cut all contact between her and the kids.

Not an Anton fan .. yep probably committing sacrilege on here saying that. Yes I’m sure he’s a nice man who’s respected by his fellow professionals.. but he never says anything bad, not nice I know but as there are no 11plus paddles his scoring isn’t helpful. Len, who I feel he wishes to emulate would never gloss over anything poor.
