I liked her tango too and I thought her and Karen had good chemistry in those first couple of weeks. But I think you're spot on about Hamza - she went on like she was the first ever larger person to
dance on Strictly and she seemed to genuinely think she was destined to win. Such an egotistical fun sponge

I would love to know what happened between her and Karen though - going from besties to unfollowing each other in a few days. I suspect she threw a massive paddy and blamed Karen when they got booted off

I can take or leave him. I saw what they were trying to do last night but he wasn't as flowing as I wanted him to be. Don't really think Katya knows how to reign it in. She is an incredible dancer.
 
I couldn't stand Jayde, her sense of entitlement was off the scale. Only matched by her weekly stories of woe and devotion to the late Victoria Wood.

She was a massive disappointment and I dislike her even more for her grotesque descriptions of her wardrobe malfunctions :sick:

I used to like Anton, still do to an extent, however his judging style is not for me. He is quite clearly trying to emulate Len and failing miserably.

Also,lets remember Anton was hardly a marvelous all rounder and towards the end of his SCD appearances as a dancer, could be disrespectful to his partners (imho) and bordering on utter parody.

and the other thing with anton for me is that he never TRIED. yes, he had some absolute duffers but he never attempted to make them anything other than that. whenever he (disrespectfully imo) about his ex partners i always think “well you never actually tried to teach them to dance did you?!”

The only thing I can see is that Layton’s hand was splayed on Nikita’s shoulder. That’s cat nip to Craig.

Obviously im very much in love with Nige and I'm so pleased that his dance last night landed so well with judges and the audience but as a SUPER fan of this man I can honestly say this was not the one.

None of it made any sense really which was sad and a real missed opportunity don't get me wrong he show cased Katya beautifully, did lovely transitions for her to move in and out of lifts effortlessly but when you have one chance to do ANYTHING I don't think whimsical was the answer.

A strong, slightly darker Fosse inspired number would of really taken him next level (because he does complex roles so well as an actor)

Soz Kat but you missed a trick with that CC and true fans will get what i mean...... hopefully 😉

agreed to all of this. katya looked wonderful and he partnered her so so well but it just bordered on twee for me and his jump spins were not it. i think i said yesterday but knowing that he is a decent tapper a darker fosse jazz number would have worked so much better. but i can’t see that the song was their choice.

Something along the lines of Faye’s CC was what I had been hoping for and I was disappointed from the moment their song was revealed on Tuesday - as was everyone I think. If we get robbed of them doing a proper 1920s Charleston, I won’t be happy. Stop dressing Nigel like he’s just got back from playing golf and give him decent music so Katya can play to his strengths.

I might be wrong - because I was wrong about the Batman theme - but there was no hint on ITT or in his VT that Nigel chose that song. The impression I got is that, like Mollie last year, a CC song was foisted on them and Katya did her best to make it work for Nigel. It would have made far more sense for someone like Ellie to dance to a song with lines like “because, girl, you’re amazing just the way you are.”

It annoys me when couples don’t get music/themes that suit them. Potentially great dances get hampered by rubbish music and it’s the audience that misses out. It reminds me of when Danny got a song from Dreamgirls for his tango, a song no one would choreograph a tango to in a million years, and I’m still pissed about the amazing dance we could have had to this day.
 
I quite enjoyed Nigel’s dance last night (then again I even enjoyed Bobby last night - I think it was the adrenaline waiting for the AT) but watching it back today it didn’t quite hit the spot. I think Nigel’s best weeks were the paso and the salsa so he would probably do better with something darker, sexier and not so twee.

I think it has to go in the ‘Not Really The Couple’s Choice‘ box.

I think Nigel and Katya knew what he wanted to do as CC and just shoehorned that over the music and decided to half heartedly call it a modern take.

That still doesn’t explain the random Scottish Dancing leaping though.

ever since my friend said that Bobby’s arms during his dance looked like he was carrying 2 imaginary pigs I just can’t see anything else.
 
So, the up-shot of last night seems to be that ‘couples choice’ should be renamed ‘random shizz that we were made to do’

I thought Krishnan’s CC song choice was pretty odd, and not very ‘danceable’ so, combined with the migraine-inducing jumpsuits, I’m going to assume that he and Lauren had little say in any of it and the producers were hoping for a ‘totes hilaire’ moment a la ‘Gangnam Style’.

I wouldn't mind if he gave a 9 if he hadn't done the A-MAZING, then a delay on delivery of the score - that was a mean teasing moment

High five fellow superfan.

I get what you mean totally. Nigel has the talent to deal with a more complex punchy dance and if this is what musical theatre is singularly all about then somebody had the wrong brief.

If through to next week, he needs a wow factor quickstep in Blackpool that will come to life on that big dance floor with Nigel dressed in a tail suit. I live in hope but don't trust the producers as he has had a bit of a rum deal recently, especially in the costume department which it seems he hasn't been near for a few weeks!! 😕😁

My thoughts on Layton and Nikita. It was a spectacular dance, well performed by both lads. All the production was thrown into it from the gorgeous wonderfully fitting matching suits, one single breasted the other double breasted, to the great lighting and obviously the best music of the evening. How could anybody else compete with that.

Krishnan had Anton's old yellow trousers from his jaunt with Widdicombe, Annabel had the remnants from somebody elses dress attached to the bodice.

As for Kai's waitcoat, they chopped the arms off to use for Angela's top, so he had to wear a polo neck underneath. Heaven forbid he gets his chest out.

Have already addressed the lack of visiting the costume department for Nigel, just a walk on by chuck command from Vicky Giggles.

Vito had forgone his buttons, donated to hold another outfit together. For a 6:05 start time his nearly there shirt was a bit ott, who was he trying to seduce? Ellie or the audience?
